In July, 2019, he was convicted on charges of child human trafficking, sex offenses, racketeering, and fraud.<\/p>\n<p>Over two decades starting in the late \u201990s, NXIVM attracted thousands of followers including celebrities and social elites through its personal development seminars.\u00a0Raniere was arrested in 2018 after accusations of systemic sexual abuse of the cult\u2019s female members.\u00a0He is currently imprisoned at\u00a0U.S. Penitentiary Tucson in Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>Cummins, who from\u00a02001 to 2006 was the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas, called for an investigation and said the credibility of the DOJ and FBI is at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/how-robert-mueller-shredded-the-fbis-credibility-centralization-intelligence-investigation-crossfire-hurricane-bush-911-clinton-email-sussmann-11663173014\">low point<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn recent years a variety of unrelated revelations have left the DOJ and FBI\u2019s reputation\u00a0in tatters. Their credibility is in question.
