With guns drawn, agents swarmed and entered Chester (Chet) Gallagher\u2019s Tennessee home for his role in a peaceful pro-life event that took place over a year ago outside a Mt. Juliet, Tennessee abortion facility.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Gallagher was out of state when armed agents raided his home last night, but the FBI entered his home and interrogated his neighbors, according to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/fbi-charges-multiple-individuals-peaceful-protests-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Live Action<\/a>. Just like pro-life activist <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/09\/26\/fbi-raids-pro-lifers-home-arrests-him-in-front-of-his-kids-after-ignoring-pro-abortion-terrorism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mark Houck<\/a>, who was arrested by agents less than a month ago, Gallagher is being charged with committing FACE (Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances) Act violations.<\/p>\n<p>The charges are related to a pro-life event Gallagher orchestrated on March 5, 2021. Gallagher and other pro-lifers lined the inside hallway of a medical building that houses multiple offices, including the Carafem abortion facility, and peacefully tried to convince mothers seeking an abortion to choose life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe rescuers who were gathered that day prayed and sang, and the event was nonviolent,\u201d reports Live Action. Local police arrested several pro-lifers on misdemeanor trespass charges, and they were later released after posting bail.<\/p>\n<p>While Gallagher was the only participant in the pro-life \u201crescue\u201d treated to a full-fledged FBI raid, others who were part of the Mt. Juliet event were ordered to report to their local authorities for charges under the federal FACE (Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances) Act as well as charges of civil rights conspiracy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A Wednesday DOJ\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-mdtn\/pr\/eleven-charged-face-act-violations-stemming-2021-blockade-mount-juliet-reproductive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">press release<\/a>\u00a0named seven individuals, including Gallagher, who are being charged \u201cwith conspiracy against rights secured by the FACE Act, and committing FACE Act violations.\u201d Another four individuals are being charged with only FACE Act violations. \u201cAll defendants will have appearances scheduled in U.S. District Court in Nashville at a later date,\u201d stated the DOJ.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The press release details how Gallagher \u201cutilized social media to promote a series of anti-abortion events scheduled for March 4-7, 2021, in the Nashville area.\u201d Then, Gallagher\u2019s \u201cco-conspirators\u201d \u201cutilized Facebook to coordinate travel and logistics and to identify other participants for the blockade.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The DOJ alleges that participants \u201cblocked the clinic\u2019s entry doors and prevented a patient and an employee from entering\u201d and that a livestream of the event showed rescue participants \u201cattempting to engage a patient and her companion.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If convicted, the seven conspiracy defendants face a maximum of 11 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000, according to the DOJ. The remaining four defendants face up to a year in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.<\/p>\n<p>The Federalist reached out to Tennessee\u2019s Republican Governor Bill Lee and Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti, asking what protections they plan to offer citizens in their state targeted by the Biden administration for their First Amendment-protected actions.\u00a0Neither responded. <\/p>\n<p>This is the second case in recent weeks of the FBI raiding the home of a pro-life activist under the purview of Biden-appointed Attorney General Merrick Garland. Catholic father of seven Mark Houck was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/fbi-raids-home-of-catholic-pro-life-speaker-author-with-guns-drawn-as-his-terrified-kids-watch\/?utm_source=featured-news&amp;utm_campaign=usa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">arrested<\/a>\u00a0by what his wife described as a swarm of 25 to 30 FBI agents \u2014 also for alleged \u201cFACE Act\u201d violations \u2014 at his home on Sept. 29, while his traumatized children looked on \u201cscreaming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mark\u2019s alleged \u201ccrime\u201d was protecting his son from an aggressive Planned Parenthood escort in downtown Philadelphia. Houck shoved the pro-abortion man, who was verbally harassing his son and entering his personal space. The pro-abortion man had no injuries from being pushed, according to Houck\u2019s wife, but he tried to sue Houck anyway. The case was subsequently thrown out of the district court in Philadelphia earlier this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Apparently the feds didn\u2019t like Houck going unpunished, and a grand jury\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/22924312-houck-indictment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">charged<\/a>\u00a0Houck with \u201cverbally confront[ing the pro-abortion man] and forcefully shov[ing him] to the ground in front of the [Planned Parenthood Center], causing injuries \u2026 that required medical attention.\u201d A spokesman for the Houck family\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.catholicnewsagency.com\/news\/252385\/mark-houck-fbi-arrest-abortion-clinic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>\u00a0that the \u201cmedical attention\u201d was simply \u201ca Band-Aid on his finger.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Houck <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-edpa\/pr\/bucks-county-man-indicted-federal-charges-assaulting-reproductive-healthcare-clinic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">faces<\/a> a maximum possible sentence of 11 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and fines of up to $350,000. A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.givesendgo.com\/prolifefamily\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GiveSendGo page<\/a> created to support Houck and his family is collecting donations.<\/p>\n<p>While the FBI has been raiding and arresting pro-life activists, pro-abortion vandals and terrorists who spent months wrecking and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/downloads.frc.org\/EF\/EF22F17.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">firebombing<\/a>\u00a0dozens of pro-life pregnancy centers and churches following the overturn of <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> have been seemingly given a free pass by the FBI.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt took a month and a half and a pressure campaign from concerned congressional leaders and senators to get the FBI to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/06\/17\/a-month-and-a-half-after-dobbs-leak-fbi-says-they-will-investigate-attacks-on-pro-life-groups-pregnancy-centers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">even<\/a>\u00a0say it was \u2018investigating\u2019 these attacks,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/09\/26\/fbi-raids-pro-lifers-home-arrests-him-in-front-of-his-kids-after-ignoring-pro-abortion-terrorism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reports<\/a> The Federalist\u2019s Elle Reynolds, noting that \u201cwe have yet to see any SWAT-style raids like what the Houcks endured levied at firebombers whose criminal behavior advanced the regime\u2019s agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CompassCare Pregnancy Services is a Buffalo, New York pro-life pregnancy center that was firebombed in early June. CompassCare provided local police and the FBI with surveillance footage after the attack with hopes that the criminals responsible would be brought to justice.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jane\u2019s Revenge, a pro-abortion terrorist group,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/buffalonews.com\/news\/local\/anti-abortion-clinic-targeted-in-suspected-firebombing-sues-police-for-its-surveillance-video-back\/article_9f158f4c-3852-11ed-9443-3b1424f6955f.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">admitted<\/a>\u00a0in a public memorandum that they are responsible for the firebombing. However, according to CompassCare\u2019s president and CEO Reverend James Harden, no arrests have been made.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When CompassCare asked for their footage back because law enforcement was not making progress in investigating the attack, let alone charging or arresting those responsible, the FBI and local police refused. Tucker Carlson reported in an <a href=\"https:\/\/stream.org\/the-deepest-level-of-corruption-tucker-blasts-fbi-inaction-over-firebombed-pregnancy-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">interview<\/a> with Harden that the attorney for the local police told the crisis pregnancy center they could not have their own tapes back because it might \u201cinspire right-wing violence.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FBI has gone from abdicating their duty to provide equal justice under the law to pro-life people like us,\u201d said Harden during the interview, \u201cto downright attacking us.\u201d Indeed, Biden\u2019s DOJ is using Gestapo-like force to crack down on pro-lifers like Gallagher and Houck, while pro-abortion terrorists get off scot-free.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n<p>\n  Evita Duffy is a staff writer to The Federalist and the co-founder of the Chicago Thinker.
