Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-ted-cruz\">Ted Cruz<\/a> (R-Texas) wrote in a letter to the secretary, adding, \u201cThis is gross dereliction of duty and, if not corrected swiftly, could provide grounds for impeachment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They included figures showing that the number of people crossing into the United States from Mexico has dramatically increased since Mayorkas and President Joe Biden took office about 19 months ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite the heroic efforts by the men and women of Border Patrol, who operate with very little support from Washington, D.C., you have failed to achieve any semblance of operational control of the southern border,\u201d the letter, dated on Tuesday, said.<\/p>\n<p>Data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which is overseen by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-department-of-homeland-security\">Department of Homeland Security<\/a> (DHS), shows there were more than \u201c4.4 million illegal crossings, including over 3.5 million apprehensions by CBP and at least 900,000 gotaways, who evaded apprehension,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/GettyImages-1404492180-1200x800-1.jpg\"><\/a> Sen.
