Ron DeSantis.<\/p>\n<p>Biden went on an aerial tour on a helicopter before going to Fisherman\u2019s Wharf, where he met with DeSantis and other local, state, and federal officials.<\/p>\n<p>Biden told reporters that DeSantis \u201chas done a good job\u201d handling the storm recovery. \u201cWhat the governor has done is pretty remarkable,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe worked hand in glove, we have very different political philosophies, but we worked hand in glove. And he\u2019s been on top on things related to dealing with this crisis,\u201d Biden also said. \u201cWe\u2019ve been completely lockstep.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u00a0traveled to Florida with First Lady Jill Biden,\u00a0FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell, and a bevy of assistants such as Kate Bedingfield.<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis thanked them for coming and praised the federal government\u2019s assistance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were very fortunate to have good coordination with the White House and with FEMA from the very beginning of this,\u201d DeSantis said, including Biden quickly approving a major disaster declaration, which provides federal aid to individuals affected by the hurricane.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), Lee County Chairman Cecil Pendergrass, and first responders greeted the Bidens when they landed. Sens.
