For months, the Biden administration attempted to lobby the Saudi kingdom to produce more oil, with President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-joe-biden\">Joe Biden<\/a> even visiting Saudi Arabia in July.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe President is disappointed by the shortsighted decision by OPEC+ to cut production quotas while the global economy is dealing with the continued negative impact of [Russian President Vladimir] Putin\u2019s invasion of Ukraine,\u201d National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and National Economic Council Director Brian Deese <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2022\/10\/05\/statement-from-national-security-advisor-jake-sullivan-and-nec-director-brian-deese\/\">said<\/a> in a statement on Wednesday morning after OPEC\u2019s announcement.<\/p>\n<p>Their statement touted the White House\u2019s recent actions to help \u201cbring down U.S. gas prices\u201d and confirmed that the \u201cDepartment of Energy will deliver another 10 million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve\u201d to continue the \u201chistoric releases\u201d that Biden ordered in March.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe President will continue to direct SPR releases as appropriate to protect American consumers and promote energy security, and he is directing the Secretary of Energy to explore any additional responsible actions to continue increasing domestic production in the immediate term,\u201d according to the statement.<\/p>\n<p> Gas Prices <\/p>\n<p>Gas prices surged to $5 on average nationwide in June. Since then, prices have steadily dropped as the Biden administration released oil from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve, <a href=\"https:\/\/gasprices.aaa.com\/\">according<\/a> to the American Automotive Association (AAA).<\/p>\n<p>For the past several weeks, however, the average price for regular gas has again increased on a daily basis.
