Version: 4.0.47--><div><\/div>\n<p>Once referred to as America\u2019s \u201cnewspaper of record,\u201d the regime-approved New York Times is back with its latest \u201cpie in the face\u201d moment, and boy is it a doozy.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the left-wing outlet published a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/10\/03\/technology\/konnech-election-conspiracy-theories.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lengthy piece<\/a> admonishing a group of \u201celection deniers\u201d and \u201cconspiracy theorists\u201d for expressing concerns last month that Konnech, a relatively small U.S. software company that handles poll worker data, \u201chad secret ties to the Chinese Communist Party and had given the Chinese government backdoor access to personal data about two million poll workers in the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the ensuing weeks, the conspiracy theory grew as it shot around the internet,\u201d wrote Times reporter Stuart Thompson. \u201cTo believers, the claims showed how China had gained near complete control of America\u2019s elections.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The notion of Konnech\u2019s potential election security risks was first raised by an organization called True the Vote, whose members claimed at an August conference in Phoenix that\u00a0\u201cthey investigated Konnech in early 2021\u201d and \u201cgained access to Konnech\u2019s database by guessing the password,\u201d resulting in their team purportedly downloading \u201cpersonal information on about 1.8 million poll workers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rather than attempt to verify the claims by doing actual investigative journalism, Thompson let his clear-as-day political biases drive his work and simply parroted Konnech, which asserted that \u201cnone of the accusations were true\u201d and that \u201call the data for its American customers were stored on servers in the United States and that it had no ties to the Chinese government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thompson even attempted to garner sympathy for the company\u2019s \u201cfounder and chief executive, Eugene Yu, an American citizen who immigrated from China in 1986,\u201d and who had gone \u201cinto hiding with his family after receiving threatening messages\u201d over the accusations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve cried,\u201d Yu allegedly wrote in an email, according to the Times. \u201cOther than the birth of my daughter, I hadn\u2019t cried since kindergarten.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Konnech\u2019s denial was apparently enough for Thompson, who proceeded to spend several paragraphs attacking \u201cconspiracy theorists\u201d and \u201cfar-right election deniers\u201d who \u201chave subjected election officials and private companies that play a major role in elections to a barrage of outlandish voter fraud claims.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[T]he attacks on Konnech demonstrate how far-right election deniers are also giving more attention to new and more secondary companies and groups,\u201d Thompson wrote. \u201cTheir claims often find a receptive online audience, which then uses the assertions to raise doubts about the integrity of American elections.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s one key problem with Thompson\u2019s story, though: The accusations against Konnech appear to be true.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, just one day after writing his hit piece on \u201celection deniers,\u201d Thompson was forced to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/10\/04\/technology\/election-software-arrested.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a> that Yu \u201cwas arrested by Los Angeles County officials in connection with an investigation into the possible theft of personal information about poll workers\u201d and that the office of Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gasc\u00f3n \u201chad found [poll worker] data stored in China.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Los Angeles County district attorney\u2019s office said in an emailed statement that it had cause to believe that personal information on election workers was \u2018criminally mishandled,&#8217;\u201d Thompson wrote on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Thompson and the New York Times\u2019 quick dismissal of the Konnech concerns is a perfect display of how the country\u2019s elitist, leftist media are nothing more than propaganda machines for the Democrat Party.
