I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways,\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CjTYBDNvUgo\/\">wrote<\/a> in the caption alongside a black and white photo of her and Hardrict. \u201cThese decisions are never easy, and not without sadness. We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The mom of two continued, saying, \u201cI am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In her Instagram story, the actress shared a quote that said, \u201cLetting go can be painful. But, it won\u2019t hurt as much as holding on to an illusion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mowry officially filed for divorce from Hardrict Tuesday, People <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/tv\/tia-mowry-files-for-divorce-from-cory-hardrict\/\">reported<\/a>, citing \u201cirreconcilable differences.\u201d The court filing requested joint custody of the couple\u2019s two children, 11-year-old son Cree and 4-year-old daughter Cairo.<\/p>\n<p>They had a prenuptial agreement prior to tying the knot in 2008. The publication noted that Mowry was requesting to terminate spousal support. Hardrict is also an actor.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mowry, 44, posted a few tweets leading up to the announcement that fans have since dubbed prophetic.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am love. I will only choose to see love. I hope you will too,\u201d she said Tuesday before the announcement was made.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday\u2019s message was also love-focused. \u201cReminder: You are enough. You deserve love. And you deserve to be understood for who you truly are,\u201d Mowry tweeted.<\/p>\n<p>Hardrict has not publicly commented on the breakup, but fans noticed he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-news\/news\/tia-mowry-cory-hardrict-shared-cryptic-posts-ahead-of-split\/\">shared<\/a> a cryptic quote on Instagram on Monday that said, \u201cActing off of emotions will cost you every time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Mowry had shared that she and Hardrict did not believe in gender roles in their marriage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of people, they ask Cory and I, like, \u2018What makes your marriage, you know, a great marriage?&#8217;\u201d Mowry told People in 2021. \u201cAnd if I\u2019m being really honest with you \u2014 and we\u2019ve been doing this for years \u2014 we don\u2019t focus on specific gender roles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMeaning the women should just do one thing and then the men should just do one thing,\u201d she continued. \u201cIt\u2019s a team effort at our house.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>90s sitcom star Tia Mowry has filed for divorce from her husband Cory Hardrict after 14 years of marriage.
