Fast forward six weeks, the outlet explained that with only five weeks before the elections, \u201cthat\u2019s exactly where [they] find this race\u201d after talking with\u00a0GOP strategists and lawmakers who initially thought the state would be a loss for the Republicans.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Cook\u2019s Jessica Taylor\u00a0explained:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>When we\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cookpolitical.com\/analysis\/senate\/senate-overview\/three-senate-rating-changes-pennsylvania-colorado-and-utah\">shifted our Pennsylvania Senate rating<\/a>\u00a0to Lean Democrat about six weeks ago, we included this key caveat \u2014 Republican spending against Democratic nominee John Fetterman had yet to ramp up, and that while Republican Mehmet Oz still has a hefty problem with his own favorables, that \u201cit\u2019s not out of the question that this could move back [to Toss Up] as the election nears.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now, with five weeks until Election Day, that\u2019s exactly where we find this race. In conversations with several GOP strategists and lawmakers \u2014 who a month and a half ago had begun to put the Keystone State in the loss column \u2014 this has emerged as a margin-of-error race that they once again see winnable. Republicans and Democrats alike admit the race has tightened and that Pennsylvania could be the tipping point state for the Senate majority.<\/p>\n<p>\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Overall, the amount spent so far is near parity between the two parties, with Fetterman and Democratic groups having spent $67.7 million so far on ads, compared to $66.3 million for Oz and Republicans. Looking at this past week alone (Sept. 27-Oct. 4), Republicans have narrowly outspent Democrats, nearly $4.4 million to $4.2 million. However, Democrats have had almost 1500 more GRPs on the air during that time. Given that candidate rates are lower than superPAC rates, Fetterman\u2019s $1.5 million ad spending went further than Oz\u2019s $723,000. The Schumer-backed Senate Majority PAC spent $2.5 million last week, compared to $3.1 million from SLF.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As the outlet pointed out, a lot of outside money has been spent on this race in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Mitch\u00a0McConnell-aligned Senate Leadership Fund,\u00a0National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), and the\u00a0Republican National Committee (RNC) have all gone after\u00a0Fetterman for his\u00a0soft-on-crime record and his time on the\u00a0Pennsylvania Board of Pardons, where he voted to release multiple violent criminals.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the RNC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/10\/03\/exclusive-rnc-releases-video-exposing-john-fettermans-soft-on-crime-record\/\">released<\/a> Monday outlined a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/10\/03\/exclusive-rnc-releases-video-exposing-john-fettermans-soft-on-crime-record\/\">handful<\/a> of violent criminals that\u00a0Fetterman voted to have released from prison during his time on the Pennsylvania Board of Pardons.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Watch:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">[embedded content]\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Data from\u00a0AdImpact shared with Cook showed that\u00a071 percent of GOP ads targeting the Democrat since August have been on crime, costing more than $8.8 million. Fetterman has\u00a0pointed to his record as\u00a0Braddock mayor in response to the attacks.<\/p>\n<p>Taylor also pointed to a recent\u00a0Suffolk poll that showed the Republicans\u2019 attacks are affecting\u00a0Fetterman since his unfavorable rose\u00a017 points since June as Oz has\u00a0remained 17 points underwater.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJohn Fetterman is the most radical Democrat Pennsylvania has ever seen,\u201d\u00a0RNC\u2019s Will O\u2019Grady told Breitbart News in\u00a0response to the rating change. \u201cNo amount of lies can hide Fetterman\u2019s record of seeking to release violent murderers from prison and destroying Pennsylvania jobs.
