Since then, many of the children\u2019s hospitals have modified or removed information about their gender-related services and the physicians who provide them.<\/p>\n<p>At least 21 hospitals have recently made changes to the sections on their websites describing their gender-related services out of 34 hospitals across the country, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statnews.com\/2022\/10\/03\/childrens-hospitals-strip-websites-gender-affirming-care\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">review<\/a> by STAT News. \u201cAbout a quarter of those 34 hospitals removed information about specific doctors, therapists, and other personnel, while others removed information or entire web pages about gender-affirming care,\u201d wrote STAT news.<\/p>\n<p>In mid-August, Boston Children\u2019s Hospital (BCH) was the first to have their Gender Multispecialty Service (GeMs) website brought to <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/boston-childrens-hospital-gleefully-encourages-surgical-pharmaceutical-gender-transition-for-teens\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">public attention<\/a>. Boston Children\u2019s Hospital invites new patients as young as three years old and boasts of having the first pediatric transgender surgery center in the country offering a \u201cfull suite of surgical options for transgender teens.\u201d Double mastectomy surgeries and vaginoplasties were offered to 15 and 17 year olds, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>After this information was made public and received critical response, Boston Children\u2019s Hospital <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SwipeWright\/status\/1559901505376993281?s=20&amp;t=BpaORDfIVl57Zrkk6IYv9g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wiped<\/a> their entire YouTube playlist on gender-related services, including a video where doctors spoke in glowing terms about the process of removing a healthy young adult\u2019s uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, and cervix for an elective \u201cgender affirming hysterectomy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A list of <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220814020051\/https:\/\/www.childrenshospital.org\/programs\/center-gender-surgery-program\/research-innovation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">14 recent publications<\/a> that BCH participated in, including a <a href=\"https:\/\/publications.aap.org\/pediatrics\/article\/143\/6\/e20183053\/37142\/Ethical-Issues-Considered-When-Establishing-a?autologincheck=redirected?nfToken=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published paper<\/a> on the \u201cEthical issues considered when establishing a pediatric gender surgery center\u201d that describes their policies went missing from their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.childrenshospital.org\/programs\/center-gender-surgery-program\/research-innovation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>. Most notably, the eligibility for vaginoplasty surgery that was available to <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220725014638\/https:\/\/www.childrenshospital.org\/treatments\/vaginoplasty\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">17 year olds<\/a> was altered to a statement in bold reading, \u201cTo qualify for vaginoplasty at Boston Children\u2019s Hospital, you must be at least <a href=\"https:\/\/www.childrenshospital.org\/treatments\/vaginoplasty\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">18 years old<\/a> and meet certain criteria.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Amidst the backlash, Boston Children\u2019s Hospital put out a statement denying that they performed genital surgeries on minors, and that the criticism they received was due to \u201cmisinformation\u201d about their services. This caused many left-wing publications to pounce on the opportunity to decry a \u201cfar right online harassment campaign.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/tech\/internet\/boston-childrens-hospital-warns-employees-far-right-online-harassment-rcna43376\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBC News<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/nation\/2022\/08\/17\/boston-childrens-hospital-transgender-treatment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/nation\/2022\/08\/17\/boston-childrens-hospital-transgender-treatment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Washington Post<\/a> blamed those who had publicized Boston Children\u2019s Hospital\u2019s practices for the backlash against those practices.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, other hospitals have become the focus of discussion amongst prominent critics of radical gender theory, prompting them to alter their websites.<\/p>\n<p>Phoenix Children\u2019s Hospital (PCH) <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/phoenix-childrens-hospital-promotes-then-covers-up-pediatric-gender-transition-services\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">updated their website<\/a> in mid-August after critical media attention of their pediatric gender program. PCH removed two pages from their Gender Support Program website amid controversy for treating \u201cgender expansive\u201d children with puberty blockers and hormones. A web archive shows that the <a href=\"https:\/\/webcache.googleusercontent.com\/search?q=cache:pACQ1Fo6ZRAJ:https:\/\/www.phoenixchildrens.org\/gender-support-program\/meet-your-team&amp;cd=5&amp;hl=en&amp;ct=clnk&amp;gl=us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meet Your Team<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/webcache.googleusercontent.com\/search?q=cache:UKs-kRKt58EJ:https:\/\/www.phoenixchildrens.org\/gender-support-program\/resources&amp;cd=3&amp;hl=en&amp;ct=clnk&amp;gl=us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Resources<\/a> pages are missing from their navigation.<\/p>\n<p>Children\u2019s Hospital Los Angeles <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220120042813\/https:\/\/www.chla.org\/the-center-transyouth-health-and-development\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">removed profiles<\/a> of the medical doctors and mental health providers on their Center for Transyouth Health and Development (CTYHD) program website. Also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chla.org\/the-center-transyouth-health-and-development\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">missing<\/a> are videos of intramuscular and subcutaneous self-injection instructions.<\/p>\n<p>After Daily Wire host Matt\u00a0Walsh revealed shocking and disturbing footage taken of a Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) doctor referring to transgender surgeries as \u201chuge money makers\u201d in September, the Nashville-based hospital <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220831215028\/https:\/\/www.childrenshospitalvanderbilt.org\/program\/pediatric-transgender-clinic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">removed<\/a> their Pediatric Transgender Clinic website in its entirety. Last week, the website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.childrenshospitalvanderbilt.org\/program\/pediatric-transgender-clinic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">resurfaced<\/a> with slightly different wording, swapping \u201cgender variant\u201d for \u201cgender diverse\u201d to describe the children and adolescents they treat. Additionally, links to some of their other transgender programs have been removed.<\/p>\n<p>Yale Medicine\u2019s Pediatric Gender Program \u201csupports the needs of gender-diverse children and their families\u201d and \u201ctreats people as young as 3 and up to age 25,\u201d according to their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yalemedicine.org\/news\/yale-team-gender-issues\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>. Speaking in a now-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ny3hcwIE01M\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deleted<\/a> promotional <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/libsoftiktok\/status\/1560139021451333632?s=20&amp;t=7j0JcU1xwwYSCzkdzcH-oA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">video<\/a> to potential patients and their families, director of the Yale Gender Program Christy Olezeski said that their program works with \u201cgender-expansive individuals 3 to 25.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne New England hospital removed testimonials from previous patients, while another scrubbed the name of the gender clinic\u2019s coordinator and the facility\u2019s address from its website,\u201d said STAT news.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, three hospitals removed entire pages about their services, and three more removed information about what time slots were available for appointments and the location of facilities, reported STAT. \u201cTwo made educational YouTube videos private,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, and Children\u2019s Hospital Association <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/american-medical-association-pushes-doj-to-investigate-and-prosecute-those-who-call-out-gender-surgeries-online\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote a letter<\/a> addressed to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland urging the administration to \u201cinvestigate the organizations, individuals, and entities\u201d that it claimed were \u201ccoordinating\u201d and \u201cprovoking\u201d outrage in response to those providing the controversial gender-related treatments.<\/p>\n<p>Christopher Rufo, activist and writer, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realchrisrufo\/status\/1577029635380228096?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">compared<\/a> the letter to an incident last year when the<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pediatric gender clinics across the country, many in prominent children\u2019s hospitals, are stripping their websites of information about the services provided to transgender-identifying and \u201cgender diverse\u201d children and adolescents.
