Proposed measures in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-ohio\">Ohio<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-louisiana\">Louisiana<\/a> would ban municipalities from allowing noncitizens to vote in local elections.<\/p>\n<p>The four measures\u00a0are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/abortion-marijuana-slavery-11-themes-to-2022s-ballot-measures_4747822.html\">among 137 proposed state constitutional amendments<\/a> that qualified for 2022 ballots across 37 states. (Nati Harnik\/AP photo) <strong><strong>Nebraska<\/strong><\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>The Photo Voter Identification Initiative would amend the state constitution to\u00a0require valid photo identification to vote, and authorize the state Senate to stipulate what those ID requirements would be.<\/p>\n<p>Nebraska is one of 15 states without <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-voter-id\">voter ID<\/a> requirements in its constitution. If Initiative 432 is adopted, Nebraska would join 21 states that require a photo ID and 36 that require an ID to vote in-person.<\/p>\n<p>The Nebraska proposal is the sixth measure presented to voters nationwide seeking to enact voter ID requirements since 2011, documents Ballotpedia. Voters in four states\u2014Arkansas, North Carolina, Missouri, Mississippi\u2014approved such measures between 2011-14. Minnesotans rejected one in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>After Nebraska lawmakers failed to pass voter ID bills at least seven times in the last decade, Citizens for Voter ID got the proposed amendment on the ballot by submitting more than 172,000 signatures, nearly 50,000 more than required, before the June 7 deadline.<\/p>\n<p>Citizens for Voter ID is led by state Sen.
