Still, it persists, requiring the time and expense of filing the instant lawsuit,\u201d they wrote, later noting that CNN had \u201cfailed and refused to retract or correct the false and defamatory statements.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s attorneys noted that there is \u201cno statutory cap on punitive damages\u201d because CNN allegedly had a \u201cspecific intent to harm\u201d Trump, and its conduct allegedly did harm him.
