Tell me, is that something that you support?\u201d the reporter for Arizona\u2019s Family <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azfamily.com\/2022\/09\/30\/kari-lake-reiterates-shes-pro-life-says-abortion-law-unclear-arizona\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">asked<\/a> Lake at a Republican National Committee campaign event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI support saving as many lives as possible,\u201d Lake said. \u201cAnd what I really want to know and I\u2019ve been waiting, I tune into you guys all the time, I want to know where Katie Hobbs stands, but I never hear you guys ask for that.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><\/figure>\n<p>Katie Hobbs, Arizona\u2019s secretary of state and Lake\u2019s Democrat opponent, <a href=\"https:\/\/katiehobbs.org\/icymi-kari-lake-still-silent-as-katie-hobbs-and-kris-mayes-condemn-total-ban-on-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">says<\/a> abortion is \u201chealth care\u201d and that women should have \u201caccess to safe, legal abortions, period.\u201d Her language <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/18\/these-vulnerable-dems-wont-say-if-they-support-unpopular-unfettered-abortion-but-theyve-backed-it-before\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mirrors the rhetoric<\/a> often invoked by other radical pro-abortion Democrats who advocate for the legalized killing of babies on demand.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes, as Lake noted, this includes leaving babies who are born alive during a failed abortion to die without care. Despite that, the media <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/09\/20\/media-activists-wont-grill-democrats-on-unpopular-abortion-extremism-because-they-agree-with-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">haven\u2019t pushed <\/a>Hobbs or any other Democrats on their extreme stance, which is wildly <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/18\/these-vulnerable-dems-wont-say-if-they-support-unpopular-unfettered-abortion-but-theyve-backed-it-before\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">out of touch<\/a> with the majority of <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/07\/08\/look-how-even-democrat-opinion-shifts-on-abortion-laws-when-polls-stop-using-leftist-framing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">American voters<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m happy to get back to you on this when you find out where Katie Hobbs stands,\u201d Lake told the reporter. \u201cBecause let me tell you where she stands. She supports abortion right up until birth and after birth. She supports if a baby survives a botched abortion, that that baby die on a metal tray. And none of you ever tried to get her to talk about her stance. So get back to me after you do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Arizona recently reinstated a 15-week abortion ban, something <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/americans-support-abortion-restrictions-poll\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">many Republican and even Democrat voters favor<\/a>. Lake admitted she wasn\u2019t sure where she stood on the law, which allows exemptions if a mother\u2019s life is in danger, but said she is a staunch defender of life in the womb and plans to enact life-saving policies if she is elected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m pro-life,\u201d Lake said. \u201cMy plan would be that every woman who walks into an abortion clinic knows that there are options out there. They don\u2019t have to choose that. There are families who would love to adopt a baby. And right now, the way it\u2019s been going, they go in and they only have one option. That\u2019s it. Nobody tells them that there are other options. We want to help our women. If they\u2019re afraid, we want to help them. We want to give women health care, and I want to help people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to debate this topic on Oct. 12,\u201d Lake added. \u201cBut [Hobbs] really needs to show up for that debate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With the help of the media, Hobbs isn\u2019t just getting away with <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/2022-midterm-elections-arizona-campaigns-government-and-politics-540ee7c3603d522c4e12c4e7083443b5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">refusing to debate Lake<\/a>.
