Some aides believe that Biden could forgo another campaign if it would shield his family from hostile congressional investigations,\u201d the report states.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Rep. James Comer (R-KY), ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), ranking member of the Judiciary Committee, have both pledged to investigate the Biden family business if they retake the House in November.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text__paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019ve got a lot of opportunities. We\u2019ve got a lot of work to do. Obviously, we\u2019re going to have some high-profile committee hearings on the investigations dealing with Hunter Biden,\u201d Comer told the publication.<\/p>\n<p>The GOP\u2019s plan to probe the Bidens has likely alarmed many in the White House, causing aides to begin preparing messaging strategies for the \u201cinvestigative onslaught\u201d coming if Republicans retake the House.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">A select committee may be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/09\/22\/exclusive-nancy-mace-select-committee-absolutely-an-option-to-probe-the-big-guy\/\">deployed<\/a> to investigate the Bidens, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) told Breitbart News in August. Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) also told Breitbart News that it is \u201cabsolutely\u201d an option to probe the \u201cbig guy.\u201d A select committee is a type of temporary committee created to conduct investigations or consider other measures on a specific topic.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI think it can be done over oversight. There\u2019s plenty there [to investigate],\u201d Mace told Breitbart News. \u201cBut if that is not enough, once the traditional committee process investigates \u2013 then by all means \u2013 a special committee would be another option, absolutely.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">The president\u2019s son <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/07\/20\/report-justice-department-weighs-charging-hunter-biden-for-tax-gun-violations\/\">is<\/a> reportedly\u00a0under investigation\u00a0for tax fraud, money laundering, and gun and foreign lobbying violations by Trump-appointed United States Attorney David Weiss. Joe Biden\u2019s Attorney General Merrick Garland has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/09\/20\/33-senators-demand-attorney-weiss-have-special-counsel-powers-in-hunter-biden-probe\/\">refused<\/a> to say whether a special counsel should be placed over the investigation to maintain a just probe. A special counsel would\u00a0distance from Joe Biden and the investigation into Hunter and the Biden family business dealings.<\/p>\n<p>Recent polling shows 62\u00a0percent of registered voters\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/09\/06\/poll-62-percent-say-joe-biden-consulted-perhaps-profited-from-family-business-deals\/\">believe<\/a>\u00a0Joe Biden likely consulted and perhaps profited from the Biden family business dealings. Fifty-eight\u00a0percent of voters believed Joe Biden\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/04\/25\/poll-majority-joe-biden-involved-hunters-corruption-impeachable-offense\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">played<\/a>\u00a0a role in his family\u2019s business.
