The judge also said that Planned Parenthood was unable to prove that denying the organization\u2019s request would cause irreparable harm.<\/p>\n<p>Her ruling means Arizona\u2019s abortion providers won\u2019t be able to resume performing the procedures except if the mother\u2019s life is in danger.<\/p>\n<p> Abortion Advocates \u2018Outraged\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSocial justice\u201d advocacy group the National Council of Jewish Women Arizona decried the judge\u2019s decision in a post on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cQuite simply, policymakers here are completely out of touch with average Arizonans who want abortion to remain legal and oppose forced birthing by the legislature and courts,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ncjwarizona\/status\/1576210487255105537\">group said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Arizona\u2019s Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, who\u2019s running for governor, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/katiehobbs\/status\/1576007179366109185\">took to social media<\/a> to call Johnson\u2019s ruling \u201ca bleak new reality\u201d that she vowed to \u201cfight tirelessly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brittany Fonteno, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Arizona, told The Associated Press she was \u201coutraged\u201d by the ruling.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azfamily.com\/2022\/09\/30\/pima-county-judge-rejects-planned-parenthoods-request-pause-statewide-abortion-ban\/\">statement to local media<\/a> outlet 3TV\/CBS 5, Fonteno said that the \u201cfight to restore abortion access to Arizonans is far from over as we will continue to appeal the court\u2019s ruling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> Failed \u2018Balance of Hardship\u2019 Test <\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood Arizona (PPAZ) filed a motion on Sept. 26 seeking to put<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An Arizona judge on Friday rejected a bid by abortion advocates to freeze her earlier order that allowed enforcement of a Civil-War-era law that made it a crime to provide an abortion unless the mother\u2019s life is in danger.
