The case goes back to a lawsuit that was filed in federal court in 2020.<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\">\n<\/div>\n<p>The Alliance Defending Freedom is pursuing the case on behalf of four female athletes. The four women claimed that their chances to compete as athletes in high school were taken away by transgender males who were competing in their sports.<\/p>\n<p>However, the appeal was dismissed last year with the judge stating that since both transgender athletes in the suit graduated high school, they had no case. The judge also stated that the four women did not identify any other transgender athletes they would be competing against. This lead to the dropping of the case.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The plaintiffs argued the athletics policy violated Title IX. Title IX requires equal opportunities for women and girls in education and in sports.<\/p>\n<p>One of the four plaintiffs, Chelsea Mitchell, believes the case is about fairness in women\u2019s sports. Selina Soule, another female athlete who is apart of the lawsuit, testified on Thursday. Soule disclosed that she was forced to compete against men for her entire high school athletic career.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" data-placeholder-image=\"https:\/\/c3.oann.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/complianz-gdpr\/assets\/images\/placeholders\/twitter-minimal.jpg\" class=\"cmplz-placeholder-element twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Selina Soule knows what it&#8217;s like to lose to male athletes. She experienced unfair competition all 4yrs of highschool.<\/p>\n<p>Now, as a collegiate track athlete in Florida, she wants to ensure no other girl has the same demoralizing experience. Christiana Kiefer, the attorney for the female athletes, said her clients\u2019 achievements and records mattered.
