Troy E. Nehls (R-Texas) and Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kansas) introduced companion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/Angel-Families-Act-9.28.22.pdf\">bills<\/a>, the Justice for Angel Families Act, to their respective chambers on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no official record that specifically tracks crimes committed by \u2018illegal immigrants\u2019 in the U.S., and little is done for the families of these victims,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/nehls.house.gov\/posts\/rep-nehls-and-sen-marshall-introduce-angel-family-legislation-to-help-family-members-of-those-killed-by-illegal-immigrants\">stated<\/a> a press release issued by Nehls and Marshall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoe Biden\u2019s open border policies are providing terrorists, murders, rapists, and other felons a no-strings-attached invitation into our country, where they are no doubt committing violent crimes across our nation,\u201d Nehls <a href=\"https:\/\/nehls.house.gov\/posts\/rep-nehls-and-sen-marshall-introduce-angel-family-legislation-to-help-family-members-of-those-killed-by-illegal-immigrants\">said<\/a> in the release.<\/p>\n<p>  Angel mom Angie Morfin speaks at an event for Angel families and sheriffs outisde the Capitol building in Washington on Sept. 25, 2019. (Samira Bouaou\/The Epoch Times) <\/p>\n<p>The bill would also reinstate and codify the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Office that President Donald Trump launched by executive order in 2017 within the Department of Homeland Security.<\/p>\n<p>The office helped family members follow the case of their loved one and track when the illegal alien responsible was detained, on trial, and deported, as well as provide other support including grief counseling.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/mkt_app\/biden-administration-shuts-down-trump-era-victim-of-immigration-crime-engagement-office_3855803.html\">closed<\/a> the VOICE Office in June 2021.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder President Trump, angel families were respected and looked after by the federal government.
