Sunday\u2019s race will be his first chance to wrap up the title, although he must win.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDefinitely I feel for the fans,\u201d Mercedes driver Hamilton told reporters, when asked how he felt at there being no re-match with Verstappen this season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor us last year going right down to the wire, that was intense for everybody and so it\u2019s never great when a season finishes early, even when I\u2019ve experienced having it finish early in places like Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor you as the one individual, it\u2019s great.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut for the actual sport it\u2019s not spectacular\u2026 so I\u2019m really grateful to have had 2008, right down to the last 17 seconds, and obviously last year pretty much the same. Let\u2019s hope for the future that it\u2019s a bit better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Only two of Hamilton\u2019s titles have been won at the last race \u2014 in 2008 with McLaren in Brazil, when he made a crucial pass at the final corner of the last lap, and his first with Mercedes in 2014 in Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015, in Austin, the third title came with three races to spare and the fourth in 2017 in Mexico was at the 18th of 20 rounds.<\/p>\n<p>The 2018 crown was also won in Mexico with two to spare, as it was in Austin in 2019.
