The category 4 hurricane made landfall near Fort Myers Wednesday afternoon and the state was braced for a 36-hour battering.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook for very hot takes from the media about how this is all Ron DeSantis\u2019s fault, both because of global warming and, also, because Ron DeSantis is a very bad man.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/podcasts.apple.com\/us\/podcast\/the-ben-shapiro-show\/id1047335260\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CLICK TO DOWNLOAD BEN SHAPIRO\u2019S LATEST PODCAST<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A \u201cpagan element\u201d has taken over the radical Left, Shapiro said, and it seems to believe disasters that strike red states are carrying out supernatural destiny.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe reality is, of course, a natural disaster is a natural disaster,\u201d Shapiro said. \u201cAnd thoughts prayers, resources all need to go towards the people directly in the path of this thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis spent the early part of the week warning those in Ian\u2019s path to flee to safer ground while also lining up the relief resources that will be needed in the storm\u2019s aftermath. On Wednesday, as the Gulf water surged inland, he told residents still remaining in the area from Naples up to Tampa to \u201chunker down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Gov. Stop politicizing, okay? Stop it. We declared a state of emergency when this thing wasn\u2019t even formed. We\u2019ve had people in here. You\u2019ve had counties doing they\u2019ve done a lot of hard work. And honestly, you\u2019re trying to attack me. I get that, but like, you\u2019re attacking these other people who\u2019ve worked very hard, and so that\u2019s just totally false.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shapiro warned DeSantis to brace for more criticism. He cited MSNBC\u2019s Joy Reid, who said DeSantis would be \u201cforced to actually do his job when he\u2019s used to spending most of his time hanging out on Fox News and owning the libs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo bottom line in all of this,\u201d Shapiro said. \u201cDon\u2019t follow any of the politicization.
