We got to play all the time as a comedian. I\u2019m that way around the house. She\u2019s able to take a line, make it her own, add value to it and be honest about it. While he\u2019s always been known professionally as Tim Allen, he was actually born Timothy Alan Dick. But as she was reading for that, she read so well that they said, \u201dWe\u2019d like to read her for more of a part.\u2019 I said, \u2018Whatever you want to do. I want nothing to do with it.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u201cI don\u2019t want to pitch my daughter for a part in the movie,\u201d he explained. \u201cBut she ended up moving to the high ranks. They loved how she read, loved it so much, because she\u2019s playing a 13-year-old girl and she is 13. They ended up casting her as Santa\u2019s daughter. It was a surprise but it became the most amazing experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Watch Allen talk more about working with his daughter in the video below.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-block full\">\n[embedded content]\n<\/div>\n<p>Though Allen will be reprising his role as Santa Claus\/Scott Calvin in <em>The Santa Clauses<\/em>, after having played the titular character in the three beloved movies\u00a0in the eponymously named Christmas film series, getting back into the legendary red suit was still a magical experience for the actor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs I walked on set for the first time in the full regalia, everybody got very quiet, both adults and kids,\u201d Allen said. \u201cWhen I show up dressed in the full suit and everything else, there\u2019s big smiles on people\u2019s faces. Little kids are quiet. I had totally forgotten that. I looked right at her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u201cOne of my photographer buddies was shooting and said it was tear-jerking to watch. I said, \u2018Well, I\u2019m looking at my kid,&#8217;\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd she literally showed what I learned from Pat Richardson on <em>Home Improvement<\/em>: Real actors can really emote real emotions. She did it to me there, and I reacted to it, and it was an amazing moment.
