With Regis and Kelly\u201d gig with Philbin in 2001 following Kathy Lee Gifford\u2019s departure, explaining to <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/tv\/kelly-ripa-on-her-complicated-relationship-with-regis-philbin\/\">People magazine<\/a> that things weren\u2019t smooth initially.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were good and bad days,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/thrilling-liberating-shocking-kelly-ripa-on-fighting-for-her-marriage-and-the-reason-she-thought-theyd-divorce\">Ripa<\/a> shares of hosting the talk show with the late star from 2001 to 2011. \u201cI don\u2019t want to feel like I\u2019m slamming anyone or that I\u2019m being disrespectful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I also want people to know it was not a cakewalk,\u201d she added. \u201cIt took years to earn my place there and earn things that are routinely given to the men I worked with. Including an office and a place to put my computer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe biggest misconception is that it all came easily,\u201d the TV host continued. \u201cPeople think I just showed up one day and was handed a job and I lived happily ever after and now everything\u2019s perfect. We went to the same resort once on vacation and he came to a dinner I hosted\u2014one of the favorite nights of my life.
