Congress has less than a week to come to an agreement on government funding as the funding will expire this Friday at midnight.<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\">\n<\/div>\n<p>Lawmakers released a short-term stopgap <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.appropriations.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/H6833AM07.PDF\" target=\"_blank\">bill<\/a> that would keep the government funded until December 16. The Senate is expected to hold a procedural vote on Tuesday Night.<\/p>\n<p>Senator Joe Manchin is reserving support for any democrat-led funding measure unless it includes oil and natural gas permitting reforms. Several Republican Senators are opposed to Joe Manchin\u2019s energy plans being included in the stop-gap bill.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cIf the Democrats insist on including permitting reform, I will oppose,\u201d said Senator Richard Shelby.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" data-placeholder-image=\"https:\/\/c3.oann.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/complianz-gdpr\/assets\/images\/placeholders\/twitter-minimal.jpg\" class=\"cmplz-placeholder-element twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We have made significant progress toward a CR that is as clean as possible.
