Instead, from conception to viability, the fetal tissue is not believed to be imbued with any humanity or existence separate and apart from that of the pregnant woman herself.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit also notes <a href=\"https:\/\/thesatanictemple.com\/pages\/about-us\">Tenet V,<\/a> which states that \u201cbeliefs should conform to one\u2019s best scientific understanding of the world.\u201d Under this tenet, the lawsuit points out that early stages of fertilization, such as the creation of the zygote, are referred to as being an \u201cunborn child\u201d in the Indiana abortion ban. But through Tenet V, or through a scientific understanding, members of the Satanic Temple do not see a zygote, blastocyst, embryo, or nonviable fetus as an \u201cunborn child.\u201d These cells are seen as part of a woman\u2019s body and not imbued with existence, humanity, or spiritual life; the lawsuit explains.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The lawsuit also claims that women have a right to terminate their pregnancy to exercise their religious beliefs, making the abortion law a violation of their 1st Amendment rights and 13th Amendment rights.<\/p>\n<p>The group previously cited the Religious Freedom Restoration Act to overturn a set of pro-life laws in Missouri, but the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear it.<\/p>\n<p>Leftists have called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyfetched.com\/satanic-temple-gets-approval-to-host-event-at-pennsylvania-high-school\/\">Satanists<\/a> their \u201clast hope\u201d to save abortion rights.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyfetched.com\/the-atlantic-describes-catholic-rosary-as-extremist-assault-weapon\/\">The Atlantic Describes Catholic Rosary as Extremist \u2018Assault Weapon\u2019<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSatanic Temple Floats Devilishly Clever Strategy To Dodge Texas Abortion Law,\u201d stated a headline from HuffPost in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy Satanists may be the last hope to take down Texas\u2019s abortion bill,\u201d echoed Fortune that same year.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, following the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a woman wrote an <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2021\/09\/03\/why-satanists-may-be-the-last-hope-to-take-down-texass-abortion-bill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">op-ed<\/a> in HuffPost exclaiming that she joined the group, believing that they are the best force in America to keep abortion rights alive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe that the Satanic Temple \u2015 and its members\u2019 dedication to fighting for true freedom \u2015 represents our best, last defense against anti-choice lawmakers who are seeking to assert power over women\u2019s bodies and take away our right to choose, We need creative, resolute thinkers who are willing to stand up for what they believe in and take concrete action to do so, and the Satanic Temple is full of those kind of people.
