And they have positive things to say about it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/collider.com\/how-to-blow-up-a-pipeline-review-daniel-goldhaber\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Collider<\/em> published<\/a>, \u201c\u2018How to Blow Up a Pipeline\u2019 Review: Daniel Goldhaber\u2019s Film Is a Magnificent Manifesto Adaptation,\u201d on Sep. 13. Doesn\u2019t it seem like someone ought to check on that?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">People might argue that Goldhaber mentioned something that sounds like the advisor was supposedly trying to keep things safe. Maybe\u2014a lot of what he says in the sound bite is unclear in meaning.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Or maybe the entire video adds further context to what Goldhaber meant. No one is going to care about it and I\u2019m certainly not going to waste time raging about it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">After all, none of this is controversial to those who rule us. Everything about the movie is perfectly fine with them, or even outright laudable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Malm\u2019s nonfiction book has fared just as well, with Respectable People treating it as legitimate and noteworthy. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en\/article\/k7ak33\/andreas-malm-climate-protest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Vice<\/em> published<\/a> \u201cThe Limits of Peaceful Protest in a World That Is Burning\u201d in September of last year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>The New York Times<\/em> mentioned the book at least three times in 2021: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/01\/22\/books\/review\/scorched-earth-emmanuel-kreike-how-to-prepare-for-climate-change-david-pogue-how-to-blow-up-a-pipeline-andreas-malm.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">once in January<\/a>, once in July, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/12\/17\/books\/the-best-book-covers-of-2021.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">once in December<\/a>. The July mention was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/07\/15\/opinion\/climate-change-energy-infrastructure.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an opinion piece by Ezra Klein<\/a> titled, \u201cIt Seems Odd That We Would Just Let the World Burn.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-block full\">\n<div class=\"video-player youtube\">[embedded content]<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/newrepublic.com\/article\/162247\/andreas-malm-blow-up-pipeline-climate-direct-action\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New Republic<\/a><\/em> devoted an article to it in May 2021. And <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/podcast\/the-new-yorker-radio-hour\/should-the-climate-movement-embrace-sabotage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New Yorker<\/a><\/em> covered it in a Sep. 2021 podcast.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Again, the ruling class deems all of this perfectly legitimate. Kind of like how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/call-jane-trailer-elizabeth-banks-sigourney-weaver-abortion-roe-v-wade-200227056.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Call Jane<\/em>, the dramatized story<\/a> of \u201ca group of women who secretly helped others to obtain [abortions] illegally in 1960s Chicago,\u201d is perfectly legitimate.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-block full\">\n<div class=\"video-player youtube\">[embedded content]<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">As always, complaining about any of this is worthless. The only thing to do is to start writing stories that play by the same rules\u2014with protagonists who act similarly but in service of an entirely opposite agenda.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Currently this is still an option.
