On Tuesday, Becerra said he hopes to reach common ground with Republicans and come together to work toward a solution.<\/p>\n<p>These comments came after Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) grilled him for his history of supporting late-term abortions. While serving as a representative of California in 2003, Becerra voted against a bill aiming to ban the practice.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Biden\u2019s nominee to run HHS is unacceptable.
