Pennsylvania pro-life activist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/democrat-lawmaker-who-harassed-young-girls-ends-james-barrett\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ashley Garecht<\/a> told The Daily Wire\u00a0Houck was protecting his son from an aggressive Planned Parenthood escort harassing the boy, noting that the case was dismissed by a federal court in Philadelphia when the escort tried to press charges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the shocking reports about the FBI arresting a man Friday in rural Pennsylvania are true, then you have a lot to answer for,\u201d Hawley said in the letter to Garland.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese reports state that federal authorities obtained a warrant under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act to arrest Mark Houck for allegedly committing a single count of simple assault by pushing a man near an abortion clinic,\u201d he continued. \u201cHouck contends that he only did so to defend his child against the man, and local authorities have already dismissed a separate criminal complaint against Houck for the conduct.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot only did your office turn a local dispute into a national case, but the FBI reportedly executed the search warrant in as extreme a manner as one can image,\u201d the Republican asserted.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs Houck\u2019s wife said, when they saw 20 or more agents arrest their father at gunpoint, \u2018the kids were all just screaming,\u2019\u201d Hawley said. \u201cTo say the least, using this kind of force to make an arrest for a single charge of simple assault is unprecedented.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hawley positioned the arrest\u00a0against the DOJ seemingly sleeping on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/in-the-wake-of-roe-v-wade-attacks-on-churches-pregnancy-centers-escalate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dozens of attacks<\/a> against pro-life pregnancy centers and churches by abortion\u00a0extremists following the overturning of <em>Roe v. Wade.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to know from Merrick Garland directly why Biden\u2019s DOJ is arresting Catholic protestors like terrorists \u2013 complete with SWAT-style tactics \u2013 while letting actual terrorist acts like firebombings go unpunished,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe corruption &#038; abuse of law is out of control,\u201d Hawley stated. \u201cCome January, the new Republican Congress must launch a thorough, public investigation of DOJ &#038; the FBI \u2013 from their targeting of parents to religious protestors to political opponents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat Biden is doing is wrong,\u201d the senator slammed. \u201cAnd dangerous.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe you must testify, under oath, before the Senate Judiciary Committee about your selective use and apparent political weaponization of the FACE Act,\u201d Hawley wrote to Garland.<\/p>\n<p>The senator also demanded answers \u201cwithin 10 days\u201d to three questions concerning Houck\u2019s arrest, including why it took 20-25 armed feds to execute an arrest for an alleged simple assault.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The corruption &#038; abuse of law is out of control.
