Samuel Sigoloff, \u00a0former director of the Raymond W. Bliss Army Health Center at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/military-doctor-facing-discharge-for-giving-exemptions-to-covid-19-vaccine-mandate_4556780.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ordered<\/a> to stop seeing patients, assigned to do menial duties, given a relief for cause officer evaluation report, and risks having his license to practice medicine revoked.<\/p>\n<p>Sigoloff\u2019s attorney describes the Army\u2019s actions as \u201cretribution\u201d for the doctor practicing medicine in a way inconsistent with the Pentagon\u2019s COVID-19 vaccine policies.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Medical Exemptions<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>Not long after Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin\u2019s August 2021 COVID-19 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/News\/Releases\/Release\/Article\/2745742\/secretary-of-defense-austin-issues-guidance-for-mandatory-coronavirus-disease-2\/\">vaccine mandate<\/a>, Sigoloff began seeing a number of patients who had need for \u201clegitimate medical exemptions\u201d from the vaccine, the Army doctor told The Epoch Times.<\/p>\n<p>But within weeks of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-vaccine-mandate\">vaccine mandate<\/a>, Sigoloff was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/army-officer-designated-a-threat-after-refusing-to-get-a-covid-19-vaccine_4643036.html\">suspended<\/a> by the clinic commander, a registered nurse, at the Raymond Bliss Health Center for providing these medical exemptions, he said. All the medical exemptions he provided for service members were invalidated by this registered nurse, he added.<\/p>\n<p>According to Sigoloff, each of these patients received appropriate medical evaluations and by his estimation, it would have been more risky or harmful to administer the shot to these service members than it would for them to be unvaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis goes outside a nurse\u2019s authority, practicing medicine without a license,\u201d Sigoloff said.<\/p>\n<p>He went on to note that she is not a doctor but more like \u201cthe CEO\u201d of the hospital. \u201cIndividual medical decisions are made by the patient and licensed medical provider that are in the room together, not by a registered nurse,\u201d he said.
