And they know that. They also know that crime is a huge vulnerability for Democrats, I would say one of the biggest vulnerabilities,\u201d Psaki <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/meet-the-press\/meet-press-september-25-2022-n1299064\">said<\/a> on NBC\u2019s \u201cMeet the Press\u201d on Sept. 25.<\/p>\n<p>On the contrary, Psaki said that if the focus of the midterm elections is on the \u201cmost extreme\u201d party, mentioning House Minority leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) by name, the Democrats will secure a victory in November.<\/p>\n<p>With a little more than 40 days to go before the November elections, Biden\u2019s public approval rating remains low. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipsos.com\/en-us\/news-polls\/ipsos-core-political-presidential-approval-tracker-09212022\">According to<\/a> a recent Reuters\/Ipsos opinion poll, 39 percent of Americans approved of the president, while 57 percent disapproved.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, 67 percent of the respondents said the United States was heading in the wrong direction, while 21 percent said the country was on the right track.<\/p>\n<p>Another recent Reuters\/Ipsos <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipsos.com\/en-us\/news-polls\/half-americans-believe-president-biden-should-be-doing-more-stop-illegal-immigration\">opinion poll<\/a> found that 50 percent of Americans thought Biden \u201cshould do more\u201d on \u201cblocking illegal immigrants\u201d from entering the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Even Democrats are abandoning Biden as the party\u2019s nominee for president in 2024. According to the latest ABC News\/Washington Post <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/biden-struggles-party-democrats-2024-poll\/story?id=90427262\">poll<\/a>, just 35 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents prefer Biden for the 2024 nomination, while 56 percent say the party should pick someone else.<\/p>\n<p> Referendum <\/p>\n<p>Some Republicans have long billed the midterm elections as a referendum on Biden, most famously former President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis election is a referendum on skyrocketing inflation, rampant crime, soaring murders, crushing gas prices, millions and millions of illegal aliens pouring across our border, race and gender indoctrination, converting our schools,\u201d Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/trump-says-november-elections-a-referendum-on-biden_4709546.html\">said<\/p>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Sunday said the Democrats will lose if the November midterm elections are a \u201creferendum\u201d on President Joe Biden. \u201cIf it is a referendum on the president, they will lose.
