Lake has been vocal in contending fraud in the 2020 election and has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/kari-lake-endorsed-by-trump-wins-republican-nomination-for-arizona-governor_4645073.html\">pledged to\u00a0improve election security if she wins the\u00a0gubernatorial race<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When asked by Texas Tribune CEO Evan Smith whether doing everything she can to ensure Lake is not elected\u00a0included campaigning for Democrats,\u00a0Cheney simply stated: \u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cheney, who has become\u00a0one of the most vocal voices in the Republican Party against former President Donald Trump, later added that she would not remain a Republican if\u00a0he were to gain the party\u2019s nomination in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m going to make sure Donald Trump, I\u2019m going to do everything I can to make sure he is not the nominee. And if he is the nominee, I won\u2019t be a Republican,\u201d Cheney said.<\/p>\n<p>Cheney also mentioned\u00a0Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who has said he will campaign for Lake.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s demonstrated that he\u2019s somebody who has not bought into the toxin of Donald Trump\u2014but he campaigned recently for Kari Lake, who\u2019s an election denier, who is dangerous,\u201d Cheney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/politics-news\/liz-cheney-says-campaign-democrats-rcna49306\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p> \u2018Comfortable Supporting Republican Candidates\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s the kind of thing we cannot see in our party; we cannot see an accommodation like<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rep.
