I don\u2019t care. Why not?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A massive bidding war for Judge\u2019s services is expected at the end of the season when he becomes a free agent after he declined a seven-year, $213.5 million extension from the Yankees prior to the start of this season.<\/p>\n<p>Home run king Bonds said he hoped the Stockton, California native Judge, who grew up rooting for Bonds and the Giants, will be persuaded to swap his Bronx pin stripes for San Francisco\u2019s black and orange. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe in the Bay Area \u2013 he\u2019s a Bay Area boy \u2013 we hope they don\u2019t sign him, and we can get him,\u201d Bonds said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would. He\u2019s that good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bonds played during what is sometimes referred to as the steroid era of baseball and while he never failed a drug test, in January he missed out on gaining entry into the Baseball Hall of Fame in his 10th and final year on the ballot.<\/p>\n<p>He would prefer to keep the spotlight on Judge, who has said he believes Bonds\u2019 record of 73 home runs in a season is legitimate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause I have all the records, I don\u2019t want to be a headline,\u201d Bonds said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery era\u2019s different. I played baseball hard. I\u2019ll be gone one day, and I won\u2019t have to listen to it anymore. I have three grandchildren. I\u2019m 58 years old.
