We don\u2019t mean for this to come off as a \u2018like it or leave it\u2019 attitude, but we feel it\u2019s necessary for everyone to know exactly what our vision is for Camp Boomerang.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When a Facebook user inquired regarding whether the camp would be enforcing their rule with mandatory \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.peacock-panache.com\/2021\/02\/gay-campground-camp-boomerang-bans-transgender-men.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">penis checks<\/a>,\u201d Quinn replied that anyone without male genitals would put a damper on times when the campers wanted to be naked together.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cListen guys, we NEVER said anything about \u2018penis checks,\u2019 but let\u2019s be real here,\u201d Quinn responded. \u201cIf we let women that act like men in, and they go naked at the pool, that\u2019s when it\u2019s obvious that there\u2019s no penis. Sorry to put it bluntly. But if you don\u2019t like the rules, quietly leave.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Quinn, who was arguably using the same logic as private establishments that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/masterpiece-cakeshop-was-just-sued-discrimination-emily-zanotti\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">refused to bake cakes<\/a> for same-sex weddings, ignited fury from those claiming he was dehumanizing trans people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI find it pretty cowardly that you put up your campgrounds stance on not allowing trans people without having a penis even if their driver\u2019s license has the male designation and decided to disallow comments,\u201d one user said. \u201cIf you believe so strongly in your stance then have the backbone to hear the other side of the conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brayden Misiolek, who is co-founder and executive director\u00a0Transcend The Binary, said about the story: \u201cAny type of policy that would require someone to prove their gender identity is counterproductive to advancing LGBTQ rights and divides our community,\u201d Misiolek told BTL. \u201cAs someone who lives with dysphoria, this news is very dehumanizing. Any kind of discriminatory policies like this erase us as a community.
