been a fervent critic of corporate America\u2019s recent obsession with following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/terms\/e\/environmental-social-and-governance-esg-criteria.asp\">Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)<\/a> principles \u2013 which, in short, essentially serve as rubrics against which companies can rank their commitments to such goals as promoting diversity, fighting climate change, performing social outreach, and the like.<\/p>\n<div recently co-founded Strive Asset Management and those investors who through his firm have some level of stake in the entertainment company, Ramaswamy issued <a href=\"https:\/\/strive.com\/strive-asset-management-letter-to-disney\/\">a formal letter<\/a> to Disney CEO Bob Chapek asking him to take corrective action in the face of \u201can unprecedented [public approval ratings] collapse following the company\u2019s public embrace of controversial political positions in deference to social activists.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_181898\" events as the company\u2019s battle with Florida governor Ron DeSantis over the state\u2019s newly-passed Parental Rights in Education Law, their firing of Gina Carano, and their various attempts to weigh in on anti-abortion legislation, Ramaswamy would lament \u201cThere is no evidence to suggest that these positions have benefited Disney\u2019s stockholders, and a growing body of evidence to contrary, just last week, you praised Disney for \u201c[standing] our ground,\u201d he asserted. \u201cWe find these comments deeply troubling for Disney\u2019s future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To this end, Ramaswamy then took a moment to \u201cremind Disney\u2019s board it owes a fiduciary duty solely to Disney\u2019s actual owners, not to a minority of its employees, activist organizations, or to large
