But it is less than at least the last four years that I have here,\u201d Price said.<\/p>\n<p>ICE only detained 45,680 illegal immigrants in 2021, about half as many as it did in 2020. And in 2022, the agency has only detained about 48,200 illegal immigrants.<\/p>\n<p>Price was speaking during <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=c2BEuHrDXPs\">a deposition<\/a> for a case <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/unmitigated-crisis-florida-sues-biden-administration-over-release-of-illegal-immigrants_4020891.html\">filed against the Biden administration<\/a> by Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody.<\/p>\n<p>Price was later shown an email sent soon after Biden took office to top immigration officials, including\u00a0acting ICE Director Tae Johnson, by\u00a0Henry Lucero, the executive associate director of ERO.<\/p>\n<p>Lucero informed the officials that the Biden administration\u2019s change in immigration enforcement policies would likely reduce detention numbers by half.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd given the data that we just looked at \u2026 Lucero [and other officials] were almost right on the money on their predictions, correct?\u201d Guard asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat appears correct,\u201d Price said.<\/p>\n<p>ICE, its parent agency, the Department of Homeland Security, and the White House did not respond to requests for comment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur deposition provides even more proof that the Biden administration is intentionally underenforcing federal immigration law in a way that has never been seen.
