former President Trump and his children for allegedly engaging in \u201cnumerous acts of fraud\u201d regarding past financial statements.<\/p>\n<p>James and the Manhattan District Attorney\u2019s office have been engaged in a 3-year investigation into whether Trump lowered property values on his tax forms but raised them in paperwork for lenders.<\/p>\n<p>The Democrat AG <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11235765\/Trump-SUED-New-Yorks-Democratic-AG-Letitia-James.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claims Trump<\/a> used \u201cgreatly inflated, grossly exaggerated, and objectively false\u201d numbers in documents produced by his accountants and executives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Trump and the Trump Organization repeatedly and persistently manipulated the value of assets to induce banks to lend money to the Trump Organization on more favorable terms than would otherwise have been available to the company,\u201d James said,<\/p>\n<p>This allowed them \u201cto pay lower taxes, to satisfy continuing loan agreements and to induce insurance companies to provide insurance coverage for higher limits and at lower one of the most powerful Attorney General offices in the nation, conducted a three-year probe into the matter and could only come away with a civil lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>She spent three years chasing Trump and his kids and all James got was a lawsuit barely exceeding the parameters of a People\u2019s Court case.<\/p>\n<p>Indicating that the never-ending desire to get Trump will continue, James said she believes state and criminal laws may have been violated in the matter and referred her findings to the US attorney\u2019s office for the Southern District of New York and the
