DeSantis"},"content":{"rendered":"<aside class=\"mashsb-container mashsb-main mashsb-stretched\"><div class=\"mashsb-box\"><div class=\"mashsb-count mash-medium\" style=\"&quot;\"><div class=\"counts mashsbcount\">24<\/div><span class=\"mashsb-sharetext\">SHARES<\/span><\/div><div class=\"mashsb-buttons\"><a class=\"mashicon-facebook mash-medium mash-nomargin mashsb-noshadow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sharer.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.conservativenewsdaily.net%2Fbreaking-news%2Factivist-lawyers-enlist-illegals-flown-to-marthas-vineyard-to-sue-gov-desantis%2F\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span class=\"icon\"><\/span><span class=\"text\">Facebook<\/span><\/a><a class=\"mashicon-twitter mash-medium mash-nomargin mashsb-noshadow\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?text=&amp;url=https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/?p=1650298&amp;via=ConservNewsDly\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span class=\"icon\"><\/span><span class=\"text\">Twitter<\/span><\/a><a class=\"mashicon-subscribe mash-medium mash-nomargin mashsb-noshadow\" href=\"#\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span class=\"icon\"><\/span><span class=\"text\">Subscribe<\/span><\/a><div class=\"onoffswitch2 mash-medium mashsb-noshadow\" style=\"display:none\"><\/div><\/div>\n            <\/div>\n                <div style=\"clear:both\"><\/div><\/aside>\n            <!-- Share buttons by mashshare.net - Version: 4.0.47--><div><\/div>\n<p>                Last week, Florida governor Ron DeSantis joined a growing number of state leaders that have been sending <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/texas-sheriff-claims-illegal-immigrants-were-lured-to-marthas-vineyard-launches-criminal-probe-into-ron-desantis\">illegal immigrants<\/a> to &#8220;sanctuary destinations&#8221; across the country, sending two planes full of illegal migrants to <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/breaking-desantis-sends-two-planes-full-of-illegal-migrants-to-martha-s-vineyard\">Martha\u2019s Vineyard<\/a> in Massachusetts.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, the group of migrants filed a class-action lawsuit against DeSantis and Florida\u2019s transportation department, claiming that they had acted illegally in flying the group of illegal immigrants to the Massachusetts island.<\/p>\n<p>According to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/regulation\/court-battles\/3652494-migrants-flown-to-marthas-vineyard-file-class-action-suit-against-desantis\/\">The Hill<\/a><\/em>, the lawsuit was filed in federal trial court in Massachusetts, and alleges that the migrants boarded the plane &#8220;under false pretenses.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A network of groups supporting immigrants,\u00a0Alianza Americas, filed the suit with three unnamed migrants that were relocated, and claimed that the action &#8220;also constituted intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress, false imprisonment and fraud,&#8221; according to <em>The Hill<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The suit claims that migrants &#8220;are pursuing the proper channels for lawful immigration status in the United States,&#8221; and &#8220;experienced cruelty akin to what they fled in their home country&#8221; during the events that led up to them being sent to Martha\u2019s Vineyard.<\/p>\n<p>They argue that DeSantis and his transportation department &#8220;manipulated them, stripped them of their dignity, deprived them of their liberty, bodily autonomy, due process and equal protection under law, and impermissibly interfered with the Federal Government\u2019s exclusive control over immigration in furtherance of an unlawful goal and a personal political agenda.&#8221;<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>The suit alleges that the migrants were staying at a Texas migrant shelter when they were informed that they\u2019d be flying to a northern city, whereupon they\u2019d be taken care of. It was only while in the air, they claim, that it was revealed they were going to Martha\u2019s Vineyard.<\/p>\n<p>The migrants argue in the suit that DeSantis\u2019 actions\u00a0constituted intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress, false imprisonment. and fraud, and\u00a0violated their Fourth and 14th Amendment rights as well as the Civil Rights Act of 1964. They seek to deem the practice illegal under federal and state law, and prevent Florida from repeating it.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from the class-action lawsuit, DeSantis is also facing investigation by a <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/texas-sheriff-claims-illegal-immigrants-were-lured-to-marthas-vineyard-launches-criminal-probe-into-ron-desantis\">Texas sheriff<\/a>.
