While we\u2019re headed in the right direction, that\u2019s still too high,\u201d Beaudry said in prepared remarks provided ahead of the speech. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will continue to take whatever actions are necessary to restore price stability for households and businesses and to maintain Canadians\u2019 confidence that we can deliver on our mandate of bringing inflation back to 2%,\u201d he later added.<\/p>\n<p>Inflation slowed again in August, though at 7.0% it remains well above target.
