An agency whistleblower recounted being \u201ctold that child sexual abuse material investigations were no longer an FBI priority and should be referred to local law enforcement agencies.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, sent a <a href=\"https:\/\/republicans-judiciary.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/2022-09-19-JDJ-to-Wray-re-WFO-DT-investigations.pdf\">letter<\/a> Monday to FBI Director Christopher Wray demanding to know why the bureau is allegedly shifting focus away from child sex abuse cases. \u201cSuch a posture is not only a dereliction of the FBI\u2019s mission to investigate violations of federal laws,\u201d the letter says, \u201cbut it is a grave disservice to the victims of child sexual abuse and other crimes that do not advance the FBI leadership\u2019s political agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"lHN3AT\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/BREAKING?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#BREAKING<\/a>: New whistleblower information\u00a0reveals that the FBI is moving agents off of child sexual abuse investigations to instead pursue political investigations. <\/p>\n<p>The whistleblower recounted being (@JudiciaryGOP) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JudiciaryGOP\/status\/1572020677087236096?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 20, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The letter comes just weeks after Jordan sent a different <a href=\"https:\/\/republicans-judiciary.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/2022-07-27-JDJ-to-Wray-re-domestic-violent-extremists32.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">letter<\/a> citing whistleblowers who reported that FBI officials \u201care pressuring agents to reclassify cases as \u2018domestic violent extremism\u2019 even if the cases do not meet the criteria for such a classification.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Monday letter also recounts how the FBI is allegedly breaking its own protocol and miscategorizing case files to create the illusion that a violent extremism crisis is rapidly emerging across the United States (as President Biden suggested during his <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/09\/02\/bidens-democracy-lecture-reminded-americans-how-relentlessly-democrats-undermine-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dictatorial address<\/a> earlier this month in which he demonized half the country).<\/p>\n<p>Jordan\u2019s letter explains that \u201c[c]ases are ordinarily characterized and labeled by the originating field office, with leads \u2018cut\u2019 to other field offices for specific assistance in that geographic location.\u201d Jan. 6 cases, however, are being treated differently.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For J6 investigations, \u201ctask force members in Washington D.C. identify \u2018potential subjects\u2019 and possible locations where these individuals reside.\u201d Then, \u201c[t]he task force disseminates information packets with instructions to open full investigations to [local] Field Offices around the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While the local field offices appear on paper to be running the cases, the Washington Field Office  is directing the field office special agents to just \u201copen the case\u201d in their geographic area with the Washington office then performing and approving \u201call of the investigative work and paperwork for the casefile.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The whistleblower described how \u201cthere are active criminal investigations of January 6th subjects in which I am listed as the \u2018Case Agent,\u2019 but have not done any investigative work,\u201d and the whistleblower\u2019s supervisor has reportedly \u201cnot approved any paperwork within\u201d those investigative files.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe manipulative casefile practice creates false and misleading crime statistics,\u201d said the whistleblower. \u201cInstead of hundreds of investigations stemming from a single, black swan incident at the Capitol, FBI and DOJ officials point to significant increases in domestic violent extremism and terrorism around the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis scheme,\u201d reads Jordan\u2019s letter, \u201callows you to continue to support on paper your assertion that \u2018[t]he FBI is a field-based law enforcement organization, and the vast majority of our investigations should continue to be worked by our field offices,\u2019 while actually running the investigation from Washington.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese allegations are consistent with disclosures we have received from other whistleblowers that high-ranking FBI officials \u2014 including a senior [Washington Field Office] official \u2014 are pressing front-line agents to categorize cases as [domestic violent extremism] matters to fit a political narrative,\u201d the letter states.<\/p>\n<p>If these allegations are true, the FBI has officially abandoned all standards and illusion of integrity by falsifying \u201cdomestic extremism\u201d threats to demonize and persecute its\u00a0political\u00a0enemies.
