We still have a problem with COVID, we\u2019re still doing a lot of work on it. But the pandemic is over,\u201d Biden declared.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, the White House <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/omb\/briefing-room\/2022\/09\/02\/meeting-critical-needs-for-the-american-people-in-the-new-fiscal-year\/\">asked<\/a> Congress for an additional $47 billion in emergency funding to deal with COVID-19, monkeypox, and the Ukraine conflict. Of that figure, the largest request is about $22.4 billion in COVID-19 funding, which would support research on vaccines, testing, preparations, and treatment.<\/p>\n<p> Democrats Scramble <\/p>\n<p>But his comment to the CBS show prompted Democrats to scramble on Monday to shape the narrative around Biden\u2019s messaging.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think what the president was trying to say is that the worst of the pandemic is over,\u201d Rep. Ro Khanna (R-Calif.) told Fox News, saying that some still suffer from so-called \u201clong COVID.\u201d\u00a0\u201cThe way I would phrase it is the worst of the pandemic is over,\u201d Khanna said.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2022\/09\/19\/Joe-Biden-2-GettyImages-1423995891-1200x800.jpg\"><\/a> President Joe Biden speaks during an event in the Rose Garden of the White House on Sept. 15, 2022. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) told reporters on Monday when asked about Biden\u2019s remarks. \u201cI don\u2019t know what he meant \u2026 some people use \u2018pandemic\u2019 or \u2018epidemic\u2019 or other phrases.
