The widely discredited dossier\u00a0was paid for by\u00a0the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI saw hundreds, if not thousands, of documents related to Christopher Steele, and the Steele reporting \u2026 things like the Alpha Bank connections that were in the Steele dossier, all of these things were make-believe but were marked \u2018top secret,&#8217;\u201d\u00a0said Ratcliffe. \u201cAll of these things were no more top secret than your children\u2019s creative writing assignments for their homework.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo there\u2019s an issue of classification of those documents, they\u2019re going to have to look at documents marked \u2018top secret\u2019 to determine whether or not there really was any national security information in there of any value,\u201d\u00a0Ratcliffe said. \u201cI can tell you from personal experience that\u00a0many of those Russia-gate documents were not top secret, although they were marked that way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ratcliffe\u2019s comments come after\u00a0U.S. District\u00a0Judge\u00a0Aileen Cannon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/mkt_app\/senior-judge-proposed-by-trump-is-named-special-master-to-review-records-seized-by-fbi_4734453.html?utm_source=mr_recommendation&amp;utm_medium=left_sticky\">appointed\u00a0senior\u00a0Judge\u00a0Raymond Dearie<\/a> as a \u201cspecial master\u201d to review\u00a0documents the\u00a0FBI\u00a0seized from Mar-a-Lago in August.<\/p>\n<p>Dearie, 79, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/here-is-what-we-know-about-the-special-master-named-to-review-trumps-mar-a-lago-documents_4735550.html\">appointed by President Ronald Reagan in 1986<\/a>\u00a0to the federal bench in Brooklyn, New York. He\u00a0retired in 2011 and\u00a0now serves as a semi-retired senior judge.
