At the same time, the Administration remains committed to the President\u2019s ambitious clean energy goals,&#8221; the White House <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2021\/11\/23\/president-biden-announces-release-from-the-strategic-petroleum-reserve-as-part-of-ongoing-efforts-to-lower-prices-and-address-lack-of-supply-around-the-world\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">released in a statement<\/a> at the time.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He&#8217;s used the biggest tool at his disposal, which is our Strategic Petroleum Reserve, releasing a million barrels per day to try to stabilize supply,&#8221; Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm touted in July.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The SPR is an emergency reserve typically tapped during natural disasters, times of war and limited extraordinary circumstances.
