A 1993 federal law prohibits the sale of fetal organs for profit.<\/p>\n<p>Gunnigle also fundraised several times since 2021 for Desert Star Family Planning, whose founder and president was caught on camera in 2014 discussing fetal organ harvesting and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.centerformedicalprogress.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/11102014PPAZtranscriptfinal.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">joking<\/a>\u00a0that she has to &#8220;hit the gym&#8221; so her &#8220;biceps&#8221; could carry out abortions of fetuses older than 20 weeks. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/CamelbackFamilyPlanning\/posts\/pfbid02Y2gYtuTsed6cDRVLEDxjNf7bDDh68juAR5UCJPTymbK28vY4nQDvBGWEfkbvgDLwl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Both<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DesertStarFP\/status\/1372238663866720260\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">clinics<\/a> endorsed Gunnigle\u2019s campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Gunnigle\u2019s ties to the controversial abortion clinics are the latest issue that could hurt her candidacy in Arizona. Her campaign platform also pledges to prosecute police under a special division and dismiss minor criminal offenses, the <em>Washington Free Beacon<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/elections\/meet-the-arizona-da-candidate-who-wants-to-prosecute-cops-not-criminals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>. Gunnigle <a href=\"https:\/\/recorder.maricopa.gov\/CampFinDocs\/pdf\/2022_47384.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">took<\/a> $6,550 last quarter from Way to Lead PAC, to which Soros\u2019s Democracy PAC has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars.<\/p>\n<p>A spokeswoman for Gunnigle\u2019s campaign did not respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Camelback Family Planning sold $1,200 worth of fetal organs to StemExpress between 2010 and 2015, according to a 2016 select investigative panel <a href=\"https:\/\/republicans-energycommerce.house.gov\/sites\/republicans.energycommerce.house.gov\/files\/documents\/Select_Investigative_Panel_Final_Report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> by the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee. Dr. David Prentice of the Charlotte Lozier Institute told the <em>Free Beacon<\/em> that while federal law is &#8220;porous,&#8221; Camelback and the other clinics under investigation likely violated the law.<\/p>\n<p>Camelback is no stranger to controversy. In 2012, a clinic employee was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1q6_Nx3f4EU&amp;ab_channel=LiveAction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">caught<\/a> coaching a mother into skirting Arizona law to abort a fetus on the basis of its sex. Gabrielle Goodrick, who founded the clinic in 1999, lost her medical license in 2016 for abusing fentanyl she stole from the office.<\/p>\n<p>Gunnigle <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HSlTBqnMH9s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has repeatedly<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/omny.fm\/shows\/the-mike-broomhead-show\/julie-gunnigle-democratic-candidate-for-maricopa-c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">promised<\/a> if elected <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=NeVSlX541tk&amp;ab_channel=SecularCoalitionforArizona\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">not to prosecute abortions<\/a> the 15-week abortion ban Gov. Doug Ducey (R.) signed into law in March. Gunnigle has encouraged others to support abortion by donating to Desert Star Family Planning, for whom she has repeatedly fundraised.<\/p>\n<p>Desert Star founder DeShawn Taylor was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=aeINzcwb3qU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recorded<\/a> discussing the need to keep fetuses &#8220;intact&#8221; for organ harvesting.
