His music contains messages about the struggle between right and wrong, as he mentions things like the satan and demons in such as his 1998 song \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/genius.com\/Eminem-demon-inside-lyrics\">Demon Inside.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/player.siriusxm.com\/?ko_click_id=ko_r850y360nozjzncwn&amp;type=show&amp;id=e240bbcb-72c4-4d69-1990-3a356ee78c7d\">recent interview,<\/a>\u00a0the rapper talked about his previous addiction with Vicodin and Valium and how he almost died in 2007 from an overdose, <a href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/eminem-overdose-brain-pills-relapse-193240372.html\">Yahoo.com<\/a>\u00a0reported in a piece published Thursday.\u00a0He\u2019s been sober now for 14 years.<\/p>\n<p>There are also examples in his songs that he may always have been searching for help with these battles with lyrics that invoke such words as the \u201cBible,\u201d \u201cJesus,\u201d and the \u201cdevil\u201d way before his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/bible-at-my-side-like-a-rifle-with-a-god-given-gift-eminem-talks-about-his-faith-in-remix-of-kanyes-use-this-gospel\">latest remix<\/a> of Kanye West\u2019s \u201cUse This Gospel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As\u00a0far back as his 1996 album \u201cInfinite,\u201d \u00a0Eminem, born Marshall Mathers,\u201d rapped about God in one track titled,\u201dIt\u2019s Ok.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In it Mathers sings the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azlyrics.com\/lyrics\/eminem\/itsok.html\">lyrics<\/a>, \u201cBut in the midst of this insanity \/ I\u2019ve found my Christianity \/ through God and there\u2019s a wish he granted me \/ he showed me how to cope with this stress and hope for the best \/ instead of moping depressed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2000, the Marshall Mathers LP dropped and Eminem became a huge celebrity, known for his shocking and NSFW lyrics, with hits like \u201cThe Real Slim Shady.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The lyrics in his songs throughout his career also appear to tell the story about a man who knows all too well about the struggles in fame to steer clear from influences and stay on the righteous path.\u00a0And those elements of faith have been interspersed in his music. Take a song like his massive hit in 2002, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tR1ECf4sEpw\">Lose Yourself\u201d<\/a>\u00a0from the soundtrack from his motion picture movie \u201c8 Mile.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the song Mathers sings the lyrics, \u201cThe soul\u2019s escaping, through this hole that is gaping\/This world is mine for the taking\/Make me king, as we move toward a new world order\/A normal life is boring, but superstardom\u2019s close to post mortem\/It only grows harder, homie grows hotter\/He blows, it\u2019s all over\/These hoes is all on him coast to coast shows, he\u2019s known as the globetrotter\/Lonely roads, God only knows.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In his 2014 song \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SAkp1zRmLU4\">Fine Line\u201d,<\/a>\u00a0he raps the lines, \u201cAnd I don\u2019t like how I see myself, so I open the Bible to Isaiah\/\u2019Cause I swear to Christ there are nights where I stay up at night\/And say a prayer twice just to make sure God hears cause this ice layer\/I skate on\u2019s a nice way of putting it \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, Eminem released his album titled \u201cRevival\u201d and it includes several songs that invoke words like holy water and God.<\/p>\n<p>In one song on the album called, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=n1WpP7iowLc\">Walk On Water<\/a>,\u201d he did with Beyonce,\u00a0he sings, \u201cGod\u2019s given me all this\/Still I feel no different regardless\/Kids look to me like as a God, this is retarded\/If only they knew, it\u2019s a facade and it\u2019s exhaustive\/And I try to not listen to nonsense\/But if you b****es are trying to strip me of my confidence\/Mission accomplished\/I\u2019m not God-sent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2019, Eminem is featured Fat Joe\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9MiOsYJKNwk\">Lord Above<\/a>\u201d as he rapped the lyrics, \u201cYou ain\u2019t seen God \u2019til you starin\u2019 down a barrel\/I was gun shy, but now like a snail\/The slug\u2019s comin\u2019 out of its shell.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In January 2020, the superstar rapper released the surprise LP Music To Be Murdered By with a track called \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=MHZGOJ1kysc\">Unaccommodating<\/a>.\u201d The lyrics to the song address is then-feud with rapper Machine Gun Kelly and invoke lines about the devil and God.<\/p>\n<p>But Eminem\u2019s 2022 remix of West\u2019s 2019 \u201cUse This Gospel\u201d produced by Dr. Dre for DJ Khaled\u2019s \u201cGod Did\u201d album is probably the most revealing song he\u2019s done yet that puts a message about his \u201cfaith\u201d front and center.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>In the video that recently dropped on YouTube, fans hear Mathers rap about how he\u2019s \u201cholding on,\u201d but doesn\u2019t know how much \u201clonger\u201d he can take it since there are temptations from Satan everywhere he looks, as previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/bible-at-my-side-like-a-rifle-with-a-god-given-gift-eminem-talks-about-his-faith-in-remix-of-kanyes-use-this-gospel\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Eminem raps the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Nh6DuYynq7c\">lines<\/a>, \u201cToday\u2019s the day that I put all of my trust and faith in You, Father\/Please let this hate make me stronger\/\u2019Fore they turn on me like a zombie\/It\u2019s like \u2018m being strangled unconscious (Yeah)\/When temptation is almost like Satan is making you tryna\/Take you away from your daughters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In one part he rapped, \u201cArmed with Jesus, my weapon is prayer,\u201d and near the end of his part on the song he raps, \u201cWoke up on stage at a concert\/Whole place looking like a mosh pit\/Bible at my side like a rifle with a God-given gift\/Every single day I thank God for\/That\u2019s why I pay so much homage\/Praises to Jesus, I\u2019ll always.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Though there doesn\u2019t appear to be a<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Superstar Eminem has had quite the transformation over the last several decades going from rapping in songs about his weaknesses with drugs to ones about faith.
