McCabe \u2014 OAN National Political Correspondent<br \/>UPDATED 9:18 AM PT \u2013 Monday, September 12, 2022<\/h5>\n<p>The Arizona Republican nominee for Senate told reporters his most effective pitch to voters is his pledge to secure his state\u2019s border with Mexico in the last two months before the November election at the National Conservatism Conference held Sept. 11 through Sept. 13 in Miami at a press gaggle shortly after his speech to a closed-the-press reception for conference participants.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s the wide-open southern border,\u201d said Blake Masters, the former president of Thiel Capital, the private family investment vehicle for Peter Thiel\u2019s family. \u201cWhich was a choice. Joe Biden made that choice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Masters said his rival, Sen. Mark E. Kelly (D.-Ariz.), also made the choice to leave the border open.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMark Kelly, my opponent in Arizona, he\u2019s done more than anyone in the whole country to help Biden implement this disastrous open border policy, so you\u2019ve got 500,000 actually about 300,000 illegals coming through every month,\u201d he said. \u201cFive million have come here since Joe Biden and Mark Kelly to open the Southern border.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Masters said the open border not only brings in illegal migrants, but also dangerous drugs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s all the fentanyl, it\u2019s the drug overdoses. It\u2019s the crime attendant to that open border,\u201d said the married father of three.<\/p>\n<p>The border and crime are also connected to how Democrats have handled the nation\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s law and order\u2013crime. It\u2019s also inflation of course, and inflation is an abstract economic term,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat it really means is the Democrats have made life too expensive,\u201d said the 36-year-old Denver native.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019ve made life unaffordable for so many people, uh, at the gas pump at the grocery store,\u201d Masters said. \u201cEverything you need to live is more expensive because of Joe Biden and Mark Kelly\u2019s demented economic policies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The man who co-wrote the book \u201cZero to One\u201d with his former boss Peter Thiel, said he has concerns about how the 2022 election is conducted, after the mismanagement of the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m worried, but you know, a lot of people worried about this and I think in Arizona, we\u2019ve made some progress,\u201d said he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll go to war here in November with a better set of election integrity laws than we had in November of 2020,\u201d Masters said.<\/p>\n<p>One of the problems is the model of big tech interference practiced by Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, who spent more than $400 million to sway the 2020 election to former vice president Joseph R. Biden Jr.<\/p>\n<p>Zuckerberg also told Joe Rogan on his podcast that Facebook deliberately suppressed news related to the Hunter Biden laptop after the FBI told him it was part of a Russian information offensive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m mostly worried about big tech,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cZuckerberg literally just admitted that the FBI coerced Facebook into censoring, true information about Hunter Biden in the weeks before the 2020 election, so when you have the FBI, when you have federal law enforcement working closely with multibillion-dollar corporations to put their thumb on the scale, to decide what Americans get to hear about in the weeks leading up to an election\u2013I think we should all worry about that,\u201d Masters said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow could you not be worried about that?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n<p>This election is critical because of the radical plans the Democrats would execute if they keep control of the House and gain an absolute majority in the Senate, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re seeing it\u2014look how bad we\u2019re suffering under just two years of Biden-Harris under just two years. Look what they\u2019ve done in 18 months, so imagine what Hillary Clinton would\u2019ve accomplished in six years,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s game over. It\u2019d be too late,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the Democrats take control of the Senate, if they can actually get Biden\u2019s agenda through, they will pack the Supreme Court. They will federalize elections. They will add new states to the union,\u201d Masters said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLike the Biden says that anyone who cares about the Constitution, anyone who wants to put America first, he says, that\u2019s fascist,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat Biden is doing is this creeping, bureaucratic totalitarianism that they\u2019re ushering in. That\u2019s gonna be the end of America. If we don\u2019t put a stop to it right now,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Masters said in the Senate, that he would work to reform the federal civil service system, which protects the federal employees, specifically to hold them accountable for job performance and to remove their extraordinary job security.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just think that people who work for the government shouldn\u2019t have lifetime tenure. Maybe there should be some performance reviews,\u201d said former investment banker said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaybe you should give the good people, a raise and fire, the bad people. How about that? Instead of just this entrenched bureaucracy where nobody can, can ever be fired for any reason like that doesn\u2019t make any sense at all,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Senate candidate said government employees are treated in a way that is completely unknown in the private sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cImagine running a business that way\u2014ludicrous\u2013if you, if you were the CEO and you could never fire an employee, whether they were good or not, you think that company would work,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Masters said he does not believe the civil service has become feudalism. \u201cI wouldn\u2019t say that. I just think the civil service\u2019s become mind, numbingly, bureaucratic and increasingly left-wing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Because the civil servants are immune to accountability, they can outlast a president they oppose, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir whole concept is to just wait out a president, right?\u201d he said. \u201cLook at how hard they dug in and resisted President Trump\u2019s agenda. They just wait out Republican administrations because they know they can never be fired. I think that\u2019s a problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The graduate of Sanford Law School said there are a number of senators he looks forward to working with if he is sworn in in January.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a lot of good ones. Sen. Josh Hawley, Holly, Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Rand Pau\u2014and Cy, Cynthia Lummis is doing interesting stuff on crypto,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMike Lee is always a joy to work with and talk to about the Constitution,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a good bench and I don\u2019t think the Democrats do.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Neil W.
