Ron DeSantis have warned of the danger of economic dependence on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-china\">China<\/a> at the National Conservatism Conference in greater Miami.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe should never buy a product that comes in a box that\u2019s made in China. If we do, send it back,\u201d Scott said.<\/p>\n<p>Scott made the comments during a Sept. 11 interview with EpochTV\u2019s Jan Jekielek.<\/p>\n<p>Jekielek pointed out that a large percentage of products sold in America are manufactured in China, making it difficult for people to avoid purchasing Chinese goods entirely.<\/p>\n<p>The Epoch Times has reached out to Scott to see if he has taken any personal steps to stop buying goods from China.<\/p>\n<p>Concern over China has been a major theme during the conference.<\/p>\n<p>An entire panel was dedicated to \u201cThe Challenge of China,\u201d during which experts Elbridge Colby, David Goldman, and Gen. Robert Spalding debated the right approach to an ascendant and aggressive Middle Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>Scott and Jekielek also commented on the anniversary of 9\/11. Scott reflected an enduring lesson from the attack: the United States has enemies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s people that hate this country around the world, and we\u2019ve got to start standing up for this country,\u201d Scott said.<\/p>\n<p>He later recited a laundry list of anti-American countries: Iran, Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela, North Korea, and the People\u2019s Republic of China.<\/p>\n<p>Scott questioned the admissions of refugees from Afghanistan who were not all fully vetted, in line with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/homeland-security-may-have-allowed-dangerous-unvetted-afghans-into-united-states-inspector-general_4718206.html?utm_source=ground.news&amp;utm_medium=referral\">conclusion<\/a> of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oig.dhs.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/assets\/2022-09\/OIG-22-64-Sep22-Redacted.pdf\">recent report<\/a> from the Department of Homeland Security\u2019s Inspector General.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve got to be way more careful about making sure we don\u2019t have another terrorist attack in this country,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>During a lengthy keynote address on Sept. 11, DeSantis elaborated on the harmful<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sen.
