O\u2019Donnell to Sens. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.).<\/p>\n<p>Whistleblower Allegations<\/p>\n<p>The letter was in response to an Aug. 4 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawley.senate.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/2022-08\/Hawley%20Afghan%20Vetting%20Whistleblower%20Letter.pdf\">letter<\/a> sent by Johnson and Hawley to O\u2019Donnell which brought attention to the whistleblower allegations.<\/p>\n<p>The senators had highlighted O\u2019Donnell\u2019s previous report titled \u201cEvaluation of the Screening of Displaced Persons from Afghanistan\u201d which said that Afghan evacuees were not vetted by the National Counter-Terrorism Center using DoD data prior to their arrival in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Donnell\u2019s report also revealed that DoD personnel had identified 50 Afghans in the United States with DoD records indicating them as \u201cpotentially significant security concerns.\u201d This number had risen to 65 by the time the senators wrote the letter.<\/p>\n<p>The whistleblower revealed \u201can even darker picture,\u201d claiming that 324 Afghan evacuees were allowed into the country despite being listed on the BEWL.
