However, in an exclusive interview with NBC\u2019s <i>Meet the Press, <\/i>Harris shot down the suggestion that it would be \u201ctoo divisive\u201d to prosecute Trump. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that our country is a country that has gone through different periods of time where the unthinkable has happened and where there has been a call for justice and justice has been served,\u201d Harris told Chuck Todd in an interview that is set to air on Sunday. <\/p>\n<p><b><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/here-are-nominees-for-special-master-trump-raid-investigation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: HERE ARE THE NOMINEES FOR SPECIAL MASTER IN TRUMP RAID INVESTIGATION<\/a><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I think that\u2019s potentially going to always be the case in our country that people are going to demand justice and they rightly do.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Harris\u2019s comments come as Trump <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/policy-and-politics\/23306941\/donald-trump-crimes-criminal-investigation-mar-a-lago-fbi-january-6-election-georgia-new-york\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">faces multiple investigations<\/a> that could result in criminal charges. <\/p>\n<p><b><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>Most notably, the former president is at the center of an investigation into whether he violated the Espionage Act by taking several classified documents from the White House after he left office. That investigation came to light after the FBI <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/restoring-america\/fairness-justice\/what-the-released-affidavit-reveals-about-fbis-mar-a-lago-raid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">conducted a raid on his Mar-A-Lago home<\/a> in July and the agency recovered hundreds of sensitive documents \u2014 some marked with the highest level of classification. <\/p>\n<p>Trump also faces investigations into his efforts to <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national-security\/2022\/07\/26\/trump-justice-investigation-january-6\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">overturn the results of the 2020 election<\/a>, with federal prosecutors examining how these efforts may have led to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
