In particular, they disagree on whether classified records should be excluded from the review.<\/p>\n<p>The Trump legal team\u2019s proposed candidates are\u00a0Raymond Dearie and\u00a0Paul Huck Jr. Dearie, now retired, was the former\u00a0Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and was also the former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York. He also previously served on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court. Huck is a prominent Florida lawyer who was a former General Counsel to the Governor and a former Deputy Attorney General for Florida.<\/p>\n<p>The Justice Department\u2019s two proposed candidates are retired judges\u00a0Barbara Jones and\u00a0Thomas Griffith. Jones previously served on the\u00a0United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and was previously a special master in two previous high-profile investigations involving two of Trump\u2019s former lawyers. Griffith was a former\u00a0Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.<\/p>\n<p> Disputing Special Master Boundaries <\/p>\n<p>The Justice Department told U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon in a joint filing late Friday (<a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.flsd.618763\/gov.uscourts.flsd.618763.83.0.pdf\">pdf<\/a>) that Trump\u2019s team wants the special master to be allowed to review \u201call seized materials, including documents with classification markings\u201d that the FBI seized at Mar-a-Lago.
