After that date, the South Dakota Department of Revenue will determine those who are eligible and calculate each rebate, according to the state <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/dor.sc.gov\/rebate-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><b><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/stimulus-update-2022-deadline-apply-direct-one-time-payment-7-days-away\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">STIMULUS UPDATE 2022: DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR $1,000 DIRECT ONE-TIME PAYMENT JUST SEVEN DAYS AWAY<\/a><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>The maximum rebate cap is set at $700, but it could be subject to change after the department reviews the rebates. It has already set aside $1 billion to pay for the rebates. <\/p>\n<p>Rebates are set to be issued before Dec. 31 in the same manner that people received their refunds last year, either with direct deposit or paper checks. <\/p>\n<p>Paper checks will be given to those who received a debit card or paper check for the 2021 rebates, have balances due and did not receive a refund, or received a refund using a tax preparer&#8217;s account. <\/p>\n<p><b><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>Addresses and bank accounts must be updated by Nov. 1 to receive the rebate. Married couples who file joint tax returns will only receive one rebate, the website said.
