As Matt Shapiro <a href=\"https:\/\/polimath.substack.com\/p\/science-goes-too-slow-for-the-news?utm_source=email\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">detailed<\/a> in his Substack post on the matter, \u201cLast year\u2019s misinformation on vaccine-associated myocarditis in young men is this year\u2019s well-established fact.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1ieZM58n-vsbnSkh1qp8Dp59mdAA1JJQo\/preview\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/vaccines\/acip\/meetings\/downloads\/slides-2022-09-01\/05-COVID-Shimabukuro-508.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vaccine Safety Datalink<\/a> surveillance data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) conducted in 2022, within a week of receiving the \u201cDose 2 Primary Series\u201d of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, there were 14 verified cases of myocarditis or pericarditis among the 102,091 males aged 16-17 who got the shot. Among the nearly 206,000 12-15-year-old males who received the same series, 31 cases were confirmed within a week.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><\/figure>\n<p>These numbers might seem small or meaningless, but in context, they represent a significant departure from last year\u2019s conventional wisdom pushed by health bureaucrats and parroted by the media: In 2021, the CDC\u2019s reported rates of myocarditis during the 0-7 day \u201crisk period\u201d following vaccination were significantly lower compared to recent numbers.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, in August last year, the CDC reported 42.6 per million cases and 71.5 per million cases for 12-15 and 16-17-year-old males, respectively, but now the health agency admits those incidence rates are actually 150.5 per million for the younger group and 137.1 per million for the older. Among 16- and 17-year-old males, the incidence rate jumps to a whopping 188 per million following the first booster, with 9 of the 47,874 developing heart inflammation in the week after that shot.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><\/figure>\n<p>While <a href=\"https:\/\/polimath.substack.com\/p\/science-goes-too-slow-for-the-news?utm_source=email\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rates<\/a> from the latest CDC study are \u201c3-5 times higher for young men than what the CDC was reporting this time last year,\u201d other health experts, whom the media discredited, were ahead of the curve. Data from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medrxiv.org\/content\/10.1101\/2021.08.30.21262866v1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">study<\/a> conducted by Tracy Hoeg, MD, Ph.D., and others in 2021 aligns with the latest CDC numbers from 2022.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><\/figure>\n<p>The doctors reported a rate of 94 cases of \u201ccardiac adverse events\u201d per million for 16-17-year-old males and 162 per million for 12-15-year-old males. While this is compatible with the latest CDC study, the corporate media and its fact-checkers labeled it misinformation when it was published last year.<\/p>\n<p>Following the Hoeg study\u2019s publication, the British Medical Journal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmj.com\/content\/374\/bmj.n2251\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">claimed<\/a> critics called the study \u201cdeeply flawed\u201d and said it delivered \u201can antivaccine message.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politifact.com\/article\/2021\/sep\/20\/doubts-raised-over-preprint-study-regarding-myocar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PolitiFact<\/a> reported that posts about myocarditis risk on Facebook \u201cwere flagged as part\u201d of the platform\u2019s \u201cefforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed.\u201d Big Tech used these so-called fact-checks to censor good-faith Americans, dissenting medical experts, and even lawmakers who questioned the CDC\u2019s vaccinations-for-all narrative.<\/p>\n<p>For example, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/01\/14\/9-times-sen-ron-johnson-triggered-the-left-and-turned-out-to-be-right\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sen. Ron Johnson<\/a>, R-Wis., was labeled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sheboyganpress.com\/story\/news\/2021\/06\/28\/wisconsin-senator-ron-johnson-promotes-views-odds-science\/7418058002\/\">fundamentally dangerous<\/a>\u201d in his efforts to let Americans discuss adverse reactions they <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/06\/28\/media-smears-sen-ron-johnson-for-letting-patients-speak-out-on-harmful-vaccine-reactions\/\">experienced<\/a> after receiving Covid shots. The Wisconsin senator\u2019s YouTube channel was also temporarily suspended in November 2021 \u2014 for the fifth time \u2014 after posting \u201ca video of a panel on vaccine-related injuries\u201d that was deemed \u201cCovid misinformation.\u201d Yet adverse effects <a href=\"https:\/\/vaers.hhs.gov\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">do occur<\/a>, as even the CDC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/safety\/myocarditis.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">has acknowledged<\/a>, including the aforementioned vaccine-associated myocarditis.<\/p>\n<p>Efforts to quash alternative research prevented members of the public from considering this information, which would have allowed them to make better-informed decisions about the Covid jab for themselves and their children. As Hoeg <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TracyBethHoeg\/status\/1565513802782691329\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a> on Twitter, \u201cIf we hadn\u2019t been vilified [sic] as \u2018anti-vaxxers\u2019 spreading \u2018mis\u2019 &amp; \u2018disinformation\u2019, how would the conversation around minimizing the chance of this adverse event have changed &amp; how many cases of myo\/pericarditis in young males would have been prevented over the last year?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Concern about myocarditis was not the only Covid-related content to be decried as \u201cmisinformation\u201d and nuked from the public square though. The corporate media, health bureaucrats, and even President Biden repeated the narrative that Covid vaccines prevent the transmission of the virus. In November 2021, USA Today ran an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/factcheck\/2021\/11\/17\/fact-check-covid-19-vaccines-protect-against-infection-transmission\/6403678001\/\">article<\/a> stating, \u201cvaccines work against contracting, spreading Covid-19,\u201d fact-checking social media posts that raised concern about \u201cwhether the shots work[ed].\u201d The vaccine-hesitant and those who resisted sweeping mandates were smeared as \u201canti-vaxxers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But as The Federalist <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/01\/10\/media-cdc-quietly-admit-3-covid-truths-after-2-years-of-lies-did-they-think-we-wouldnt-notice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>, the ruling regime was the real purveyor of misinformation. In January 2022, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky finally <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Cernovich\/status\/1480369062588780546?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">admitted on CNN<\/a> that the vaccines can\u2019t \u201cprevent transmission.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Many pandemic concerns that were once labeled misinformation have since proved to be true, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/24\/shocking-data-shows-school-closures-caused-severe-learning-loss-for-children-around-the-globe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">learning loss<\/a> due to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/02\/15\/cdc-admits-it-catered-to-teachers-unions-with-political-school-reopening-guidelines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">school closures<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/08\/27\/israeli-study-natural-immunity-is-13x-stronger-than-pfizer-covid-shots\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">effectiveness<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/11\/12\/cdc-admits-it-has-no-evidence-of-recovered-covid-patients-spreading-the-virus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">natural immunity<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/01\/17\/cdc-finally-admits-cloth-masks-were-always-political-theater\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ineffectiveness<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/08\/02\/san-francisco-becomes-latest-to-bring-back-mask-mandate-as-former-biden-covid-adviser-says-masks-dont-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cloth face coverings<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/06\/16\/research-finds-lockdowns-are-far-worse-for-health-and-lives-than-coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">social<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/05\/12\/supply-chain-disruptions-are-really-the-effects-of-lockdowns-we-should-never-allow-again\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">economic<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/10\/11\/governments-covid-lockdowns-spiked-global-rates-of-anxiety-and-depression-by-more-than-a-quarter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">harms<\/a> of mass <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/05\/12\/the-united-states-economic-uncertainty-is-a-democrat-made-problem\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lockdowns<\/a>, just to name a few.
