Version: 4.0.47--><p>Wisconsin voters filed a <a href=\"https:\/\/thomasmoresociety.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/WI-HAVA-Complaint-9-8-22.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">legal complaint<\/a> against the state\u2019s elections commission on Thursday, accusing the body \u201cand its members of violating the federal Help America Vote Act by its contracted use of [the] Electronic Registration Information Center [ERIC].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Filed by the Thomas More Society on behalf of the Wisconsin Voter Alliance, the complaint <a href=\"https:\/\/thomasmoresociety.org\/voters-accuse-wisconsin-election-commission-of-violating-federal-election-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">alleges<\/a> that \u201cin violation of the federal Help America Vote Act, the Wisconsin Election Commission [WEC] has contracted with Electronic Registration Information Center, Inc. to maintain and implement WisVote\u201d and that the \u201cdelegation of this government function to an outside entity has enabled the potential rigging of Wisconsin\u2019s federal elections towards particular federal candidates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to a Thomas More Society press release, the Help America Vote Act \u201crequires that the Wisconsin Elections Commission and its officials, by itself and by themselves, respectively, maintain and implement WisVote, the state\u2019s voter information database.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Also included in the legal complaint are details on \u201chow, rather than complying with the Congressionally enacted Help America Vote Act, the Wisconsin Elections Commission has entered into a membership agreement with [the] Electronic Registration Information Center, Inc., authorizing \u2018the transmission of information and data related to the registration of electors in this state [by the Wisconsin Elections Commission] to the Electronic Registration Information Center, Inc., for processing and sharing with other member states and governmental units.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/11\/democratic-operatives-control-voter-rolls-in-31-states-report-shows\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> by Federalist Staff Writer Victoria Marshall, ERIC was \u201c[s]tarted in 2012 by far-left activist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/person\/david-becker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">David Becker<\/a>\u00a0and the left-leaning\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/pew-charitable-trusts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pew Charitable Trusts<\/a>\u201d and \u201csold to states as a quick and easy way to update their voter rolls.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cERIC shares voter roll data \u2014 including records of unregistered voters \u2014 it receives from the states with [The Center for Election Innovation and Research (<a href=\"https:\/\/electioninnovation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CEIR<\/a>)],\u201d one of the \u201ctwo leftist groups used to funnel Mark Zuckerberg\u2019s $419 million that funded the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/10\/13\/mark-zuckerberg-spent-419m-on-nonprofits-ahead-of-2020-election-and-got-out-the-dem-vote\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">private takeover of government election offices<\/a>\u00a0in 2020,\u201d Marshall wrote. \u201cCEIR then develops targeted mailing lists and sends them back to the states to use for voter registration outreach. As part of their agreement with ERIC, states\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/mkt_morningbrief\/d-c-board-of-elections-sued-for-keeping-voter-data-secret_4144019.html?utm_source=Morningbrief&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=mb-2021-12-09&amp;mktids=1d74b01a65bdf6b768d7855cabbd21fc&amp;est=ChoPU9MaZioIH9Wc1UKsDAQ3gODvCXHoprHcf35zErAxQx46I39wl2nrRjLOysumb%2BlmHnIn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">are not allowed to disclose any data<\/a>\u00a0they send to nor receive from ERIC, however, ERIC is not under the same constraints and is able to work with CEIR.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In essence, ERIC acts as a cover for left-wing operatives to \u201caccomplish their partisan goals and drive Democratic voter turnout\u201d in dozens of states across the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder the Help America Vote Act, the United States Congress deemed that maintaining the statewide voter registration system database is seen as such a core governmental purpose that it cannot be delegated to any other organization, including the Electronic Registration Information Center, Inc.,\u201d said Thomas More Society Special Counsel Erick Kaardal in a <a href=\"https:\/\/thomasmoresociety.org\/voters-accuse-wisconsin-election-commission-of-violating-federal-election-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a>. \u201cAs every Wisconsinite knows \u2026 some things must be done by oneself, if at all possible, even if done badly, like our elders eating, dressing, and going to the bathroom. Similarly, the Help America Vote Act requires the Wisconsin Election Commission to maintain WisVote by itself, even if it does so poorly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe commission has made a catastrophic mistake by allowing the Electronic Registration Information Center into Wisconsin\u2019s database management.
