We all had made the decision together, we all feel it was the right thing and good about it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not the first time a character has been recast because of race. Last June, actress Kristen Bell announced she would no longer be the voice of Molly,\u00a0a mixed-race character on Apple TV+\u2019s animated musical comedy series Central Park.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCasting a mixed race character with a white actress undermines the specificity of the mixed race and Black American experience,\u201d she wrote on Twitter at the time. \u201cThis is a time to acknowledge our acts of complicity. Here is one of mine.
